The School of Athens is a famous painting by the Italian artist Raphael. It gathers some of the greatest minds of the ancient world, including Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates, among others.
Why school of athens?
In the beginning, it is fair to say that everything was just a coincidence or fairly a bunch of them, each one or two of us met another in different situations and in different parts of the world, during times of travel or voluntary work, although we have a history of high school mates among us the least common place we shared or met in college. But soon enough we were all gathered and our friendship bond matured.

Why school of athens?
Even though we always took different courses from each other in college, but we always enjoyed studying together, maybe just in final exams or studying different topics in the same space just to make a bunch of new jokes.
Haider was a Diver, he dives into a bunch of lectures and papers, disappears for a long time and goes out red-eyed and sleep deprived
Yousif is a gentleman, he doesn’t say No, he would agree with any thing piece of information you tell by a long (Ahaa!) and a hand gesture, maybe he just doesn’t care enough.
Why school of athens?
Ali and Ebrahim go along together in studying, and they surprisingly share the same method and interest, not as soon as they start arguing over a word and it then takes forever, especially of Ebrahim is wearing his glasses and they are halfway down his nose, you would then hear them both yelling or making fun of each other and this takes forever.
Why school of athens?
Ahmed , we don’t see him study with us often, just laughing on how silly we start to behave, we even sometimes question this novel insecurity of his, but we knew the answer eventually that he is not less stubborn and rock headed than any of us.
Why school of athens?
But we all shared one thing in common!
Which is using a simple or stupid way that is logic deprived to try and simplify medical information to each other, soon enough it became the running joke trend and we tried our best to be as creative as possible for each of us to make himself look smarter than the others. This is what we called:
Some day we were having a night out at Yousif’s when we saw this great painting hanging on the sidewall, the school of athens! That’s when we knew where we belong : designed when we were in 5th year.
1-A-The quote:
As he believes in education and precisely the value of medical education. Ahmed chose the quote, ” He who studies medicine without books sails an uncharted sea, but he who studies medicine without patients does not go to sea at all.’’ - sir. William Osler was the father of modern medicine and the first one to bring medical students to clinical practice.
1-B-The feather:
‘’Golden eagle’’ feather, the national animal of Iraq. To merge between greek and national cues.
2-P value
Yousif reflects on his observation, the miraculous effort spent to convert enormous amounts of data into one line in a textbook that medical students study.
Here we can see p-value <0.5 which indicates a significant value in research.
3-The children:
Referring to both Yousif and Ahmed's ideas, here we can find the ancient efforts to harvest and turn olive leaves into a crown while children are passionately trying to learn so knowledge is transferred
4-Achilles:
Achilles is medicating his friend Patroklos, wounded by an enemy arrow.
Achilles was secure from any injuries except for his heel, here comes the naming of the wellknown tendon '' Achilles tendon''
