Storytime in the Park

The bookmobile stops from 11 a.m.–noon. Storytime starts at 11:15 a.m.

KIDS

Read and grow.

Drop by for a 20-minute storytime in the park and browse the bookmobile. Safety precautions in place including the wearing of masks by all over the age of 2 years old. Staff will direct families where to sit.

In case of inclement weather, both the storytime and bookmobile visit will be canceled.

Book Buddies

Wednesday, May 5, 6–7 p.m.

Sign up for a 15-minute slot to practice your skills by reading a book together with a high school volunteer. Especially great for kids learning English as a new language; all are welcome. Grades K–3.

Chess Club

Sunday, May 23, 11 a.m.–noon / Zoom

Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach using lichess.org for online play. Age 6–grade 6.

Minecraft Mania

Saturday, June 5, 10:30 a.m.–noon / Zoom

Participants of all experience levels complete challenges using multiplayer gameplay, working together to accomplish goals. Using your own account is encouraged. If you do not already have an account, one will be provided. Grades 3–4.

Birthday Greetings

Email your child’s name, birthday, age, address and favorite book or toy and Youth Services staff will write and mail a birthday greeting with a book recommendation. Send info for May birthdays to youthprograms@ ahml.info. Grades K–2.
