Celebrate graduating into teen life by checking out all that the Hub has to offer, including crafts and games. For teens entering seventh and eighth grades in the fall.

Tween Advisory Group (TAG)

Thursday, June 16, 4:15–5:30 p.m. Makerplace, 112 N. Belmont Ave.

Join your fellow Tween Advisory Group members at the Makerplace to celebrate a year’s worth of accomplishments, make something and enjoy a few treats. Meet outside on the front lawn. In case of inclement weather, meet in the Creative Arts space in the Makerplace basement. All participants must complete a Makerplace Waiver in advance of the program. Grades 4–6. Register June 2.

Books ‘n Bites The Aquanaut by Dan Santat

Join our tween book club for an afternoon of discussion, activities and snacks. Pick up a copy of the book at the Kids’ World Desk. Grades 4–6.

Friday, June 24, and Thursday, August 11, 10–11 a.m. North School Park, N. Evergreen Ave. and E. St. James St. An Arlington Heights Park District instructor will lead this introductory class covering basic stretches and postures. Bring your own mat, blanket or towel. Presented in partnership with Arlington Heights Park District. This event is weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, this class will be relocated to the Hendrickson Room (June) or Cardinal Room (August) in the library. Grades 4–12.

Wednesday, June 29, 6–7:30 p.m. Cardinal Room

Use our art and sewing supplies to create anything you want or tinker with a tech toy. Stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time. Grades 4–8.

Tween Crafternoon

Make a variety of crafts designed and prepared especially by teen volunteers. Grades 4–6.

Wings of Fire Escape Room

Work together with other Wings of Fire fans to solve the clues, escape the cave and fulfill your destiny. All sessions are the same. Grades 4–6.

Fun in the Sun STEM

Build a solar bug and harness the power of the sun to make it move, then make a colorchanging work of art using UV beads. Grades 4–6.
