Lake Arlington is situated in close proximity to several subdivisions. AHPD asks that you use courtesy and consideration when using the lake and surrounding property. Please be a good neighbor.
Posted Rules
Specific rules and regulations regarding the use of Lake Arlington are posted at various locations throughout the lake site. Everyone using the site is expected to know the rules and follow them. Fishing at Lake Arlington is regulated by all Illinois Department of Conservation rules and regulations. Fishing licenses are required for 16-65 year olds. The lake is stocked with bass, bluegill, catfish and northern fingerlings. A catch and release program is in effect for fishing seasons. Only carp and gizzard shad may be taken from the Lake.
Boat Storage Dates and Rates
The boat and storage area holds boats up to 14’ long and 4’ wide. Canoes, rowboats, kayaks, crew boats and sailboats can fit. AHPD reserves the right to question and/or disallow any boat. Trailer storage is not available.

Boat Rental Information
Minimum age to rent a boat is 12 years old with signed waiver.
• A waiver is required of all persons renting a boat.
• All boaters are required to wear a personal flotation device (P.F.D).
• Children under 12 years of age who have been in sail camp and have instructor approval will be allowed to rent a sailboat with parent on site.
• You MUST have participated in a Lake Arlington Sail Camp or lesson and have instructor approval to rent a sailboat or you MUST demonstrate through a verbal test that you have sailing experience and can sail a dinghy.

Paddle Boats: $7/adult ,$3/child (2-5 yrs)
Kayaks Single: $15/hour
Tandem: $20/hour
Sailboats: $30 first hour, $15/add'l hour
Paddleboards: $15/hr
Punch Card (5): 1-hour rentals, $120
Boat Launching
Boaters are allowed to launch their own craft. There are no ramps. All boats will have to be carried to the boat launch area. No sailboards or motors will be allowed. Sailboats, rowboats, kayaks and canoes are welcome.
Daily Fee $10
Season Sticker R/NR $60/$80
All boaters, whether they rent from AHPD or bring their own boat, are required to wear a personal floatation device on the water. P.F.D.’s are provided for all renters. Call Kevin Keister for more details at 847.577.3010.
Family Weekend Sailing Lessons
These classes are designed for an adult and child to experience the joy of sailing together. Fee includes one parent and one child. Please register under the child’s name. Class is held Saturday and Sunday. (KK)
SUP Yoga
Find your true balance while doing yoga on the waters of Lake Arlington. This program will challenge beginners and experts alike. One hour session. All equipment provided. Waiver required. If under 18, parent/guardian must sign. If under 16, must be accompanied by an adult. (KK) Lake
Learn to Kayak
Northwest Passage trained guides will teach the basics and then get you out on Lake Arlington to admire the scenery and enjoy the tranquility of sea kayaking. All equipment provided: kayak, paddle and PFD. Students can also bring their own equipment. Waiver required. (KK)
Adult Sailing Lessons
Lessons are offered for both novice and experienced sailors. Our sailing instructors teach novices the basic terminology, handling and safety procedures necessary to begin the sport of sailing. Experienced sailors will hone existing skills and build on them. All participants must be comfortable floating in lake water with PFD properly attached. (KK)
Learn to Stand-Up Paddleboard
Ready to SUP?! The Northwest Passage of Wilmette, IL and their staff will guide you through the popular sport of SUP. The introductory class covers basic strokes, techniques, appropriate clothing and gear. All equipment is provided: board, paddle and PFD. Students may bring own board to class. Waiver required. (KK)
