Effective Prospect Management in a New Health Care Environment
Using Predictive Modeling to Accelerate Major Gift Efforts
Wondering how to use social media to help your organization? Curious if these tools actually work to raise money or steward donors? And, wondering how to do it in a way that builds meaningful connections with your constituents? This session will provide many of the answers and more.
Whether the topic of the moment is the bad economy or health care reform, a flexible yet structured prospect management process is still the best way to get a major gift. This presentation is geared towards demonstrating best practices, prospect evaluation concepts and reporting that can help an individual or organization succeed in cultivating the right prospect for right gift at the right time.
Predictive modeling and philanthropic analytics are powerful tools in major gift fundraising. Unfortunately, fundraisers often let this information drive us straight into “analysis paralysis.” In fact, data is only helpful when it gets us out of our offices and in front of prospects with the interest and capacity to impact our organizations. This session will highlight strategies regarding how to use data to refine portfolios, sharpen participation, focus volunteer involvement and ultimately close major gifts.

Grateful Patients Fuel the Pipeline of Major Donors Why is it that we often focus on donors with resources and no relationship to our hospital, yet thousands of grateful patients we rarely meet or discuss seek our care each day? Best practice with grateful patients includes engagement, outreach, assessment, feedback, personal visits and follow up. Weaving these actions into annual giving sets the stage for development of a robust pipeline of ready, willing and able major donors. In this session you will learn how to develop and implement a plan for cultivating grateful patients.
Presenter Susan J. Doliner, FAHP, CFRE Vice President for Development Maine Medical Center Portland, ME
The Key Steps to Closing Major Gifts You will want to attend this popular program on the 10 key steps to closing major gifts. Developing an Effective Donor Stewardship Program
Anatomy of a Transformative Gift: Lessons Learned, a Case Study
Recruiting and Keeping Outstanding Staff
More than ever, donors are focusing on accountability and your ability to demonstrate the meaningful ways in which their gifts are being used at your organization. By learning the steps to developing an effective donor stewardship program, you will enhance donor relations by providing satisfaction to your donors. This session will introduce you to effective strategies for developing and implementing your successful donor stewardship program.
An anonymous patient family gave California Pacific Medical Center Foundation (CPMC) $21,000,000 to create an innovative program directed by their physician. Key to this gift was the relationship between the physician and family, strategically guided by the development officer partnering with hospital leadership and business staff. This session interactively examines: what is a transformational gift and how is it similar to and different from a major gift? What are best practices in partnering with physicians? How does a transformational vision engage transformational philanthropist-investors?
Attracting and retaining outstanding development professionals is challenging in an increasingly competitive environment. This interactive session will explore practices for finding, recruiting and keeping high-performing staff. Identifying and attracting exceptional talent, mentoring, performance measurement, incentive compensation, organizational structures … these topics and more will be discussed toward generating effective techniques to create thriving, successful development teams.
