moxie, risk taking and beliefs that transcend the every day. William C. McGinly, Ph.D., CAE With more than 40 years nonprofit management experience, Dr. William C. McGinly is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), representing over 4,800 executives raising funds for nonprofit health care providers. McGinly, who has been named for 15 consecutive years in the NonProfit Times Power & Influence Top 50, is a former board member for the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University Indianapolis; a past chairman of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE); an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); an I/D/E/A/ Fellow; a Certified Association Executive (CAE); and received his doctorate in administration from The American University.

Stephen G. Post, Ph.D. Stephen G. Post is a public intellectual, speaker, professor of preventive medicine, and best-selling author who has taught at the University of Chicago Medical School, Fordham University-Marymount, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He is an elected Fellow of the Hastings Center and a Senior Scholar of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. Post wrote the 2011 best-selling book The Hidden Gifts of Helping: How the Power of Giving, Compassion, and Hope Can Get Us Through Hard Times. He was lead author of the 2007 Why Good Things Happen to Good People: How to Live a Longer, Healthier, Happier Life by the Simple Act of Giving. His writings were included in Best American Spiritual Writing (2005). Post received the Kama Book Award in Medical Humanities from World Literacy Canada (2008), and was listed in the “Best Spiritual Books of 2011” by Spirituality & Practice. Articles by or about him have been published in Parade, O: The Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, and Psychology Today. He has appeared on many major media venues, including 20/20, The Daily Show, Stossel, and Nightline.

CDO Boot Camp – A Half Day Intensive Workshop Being the chief development officer or senior staff of a smaller shop with limited resources is hard. Your health care institution may be asking for unrealistic fundraising goals while your resources are limited and you are putting in long hours. You face constant demands from your volunteers, board, CEO, staff and community generating never-ending-unforgiving-to-do lists. And there is no instruction manual. This is why AHP created the CDO Boot Camp — to provide you with the tools you need to succeed, the confidence to handle any challenge and a renewed perspective on managing your time, you staff and the expectations of your C-suite. Spend your day with a group of your peers and expert faculty to immerse yourself in conversations that you need to succeed and get ahead in your organization.
