Fall racing planning! Hope you all are having a fun 2021 racing season. I know, I know, the rain has been a deterrent, but our fall schedule will be packed and we all like racing in the fall better anyways down here. Let’s get to some business though as we are going to modify the South-Central Regional Championship Qualifications for our Cross Country and Motocross racers wanting to compete for what will be a very nice trophy and piece of apparel to show off with. Because the Post Vintage race at the Gator National in Desoto last spring was canceled and we had some bad mud conditions overall I am going to scale back some on requirements. Again, the REGIONAL ONLY events (Waco, Desoto Fall Regional, Kentwood Oilman’s Classic, and Donie XC race) will add 10 points to your overall score and you must make at least two regional-only events to qualify for a championship, so our racing is spread out for regionals and there is no good excuse to not support them. Long term, the program will expand as I expect the number of nationals in the region to decrease as we were out of balance severely to the rest of the country this year. Here it goes:

REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL AWARDS:

• Vintage and Post Vintage MX minimum six of the nine events must be raced of which two must be a regionalonly event. • Next Gen MX minimum five of eight events must be raced of which two must be a regional-only event. • Cross Country minimum eight of the thiirteen events must be raced of which two must be a regional-only event. • All events will be counted towards points totals for championship. • Regional-only events will have an additional 10 points added to the total score of each event. • You must be an AHRMA member to receive Regional

AHRMA Championship Awards and Points. Nonmember points will be removed and rescored for members. Also, since we have last updated you all there are two new sponsors on board for 2021. Alan Drane has made a personal donation to the 2021 season as has Hypersports Garage owned by Larry Navarro. Anyone wishing to help fund our sponsorship program please contact me and I will get you the details. We should be in good shape for 2021 awards, and they will be special. As for 2020 awards I will have a nice trophy for presentation at the Texas Vintage GP race in October.

THE UPCOMING SCHEDULE:

DECEMBER 4-5:

Oilman’s Classic Regional #3 in Kentwood, LA: Special Regional event for both the South Central and Southeast regions to come together with VMX on the 4th and PVMX/ Next Gen on the 5th. Look for a special team race of top racers from both regions to compete for special awards and a special traveling trophy!

Final note. AHRMA and the International Motorcycle Show could not come to an agreement for 2021 so we will not be active in a display in early October at Texas Motor Speedway. Look for future shows in 2022 forward to get back together on the program. Next month, look for a feature on the recent return to racing at Waco Eagles! It was a blast. Keep it on the pipe!
