Initially the base of the AIDS Action Council, the building is now home to dozens of community groups and health promoting organisations of all sizes.
The AIDS Action Council of the ACT is one of Canberra’s leading health promotion and community organisations, founded by the community in response to the HIV epidemic. The AIDS Action Council of the ACT provides services to the ACT community, aimed at eliminating further transmission of HIV and minimising the personal and social impacts of HIV and AIDS.

A major community event SpringOut Fairday is the largest and highest profile LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community event in Canberra. It is an inclusive event that celebrates the diversity, colour and vibrancy of Canberra. People come to Fairday to find out about community groups and organisations, buy unusual Christmas gifts, enjoy outdoor entertainment, meet friends and see LGBT Canberra. The Canberra LGBT community puts on a great celebration, and having your business or message present at SpringOut Fairday is an opportunity not to be missed!
The essentials SpringOut Fairday 2010 will be held from 12.00 noon to 5.00 pm on Saturday 30 October 2010 on the grounds of Westlund House at 16 Gordon Street Acton, close to the New Acton precinct, the National Film and Sound Achive and the Australian National Univerisity. In case of wet weather, Westlund House itself will become the contingency venue.
History of the event SpringOut Fairday has been held annually since the first SpringOut festival in 1999. Since 2001, the event has been proudly hosted by Westlund House and continued as a major grassroots community event. The event has been the site of important community research including the Snapshot Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Survey and the Canberra Gay Community Periodic Survey. Since 2008, SpringOut Fairday has been held on the first weekend of the SpringOut festival, becoming a launch event for the festival as well as a significant event in its own right.
Audience demographics and projected attendance Over 700 people are projected to attend SpringOut Fairday 2010. The majority of attendees to Fairday belong to the LGBT community and most (approximately 80%) live in Canberra. Thousands of individuals will be invited to Fairday through direct marketing and online social marketing. The LGBT community is especially sensitive to support from businesses and organisations and will direct purchasing decisions towards those businesses providing support to the community. The Canberra LGBT community includes influential decision makers in the public and private sectors. SpringOut Fairday is a family friendly event, with games and activities for children to play. Many families do attend the event, especially those with same-sex attracted parents.

Package inclusions 1.
Naming Rights – Your business or organisation will have naming rights to SpringOut Fairday 2010.
2.
Speech – a maximum of 10 minutes will be allocated to you during the course of SpringOut Fairday.
3.
Banners – your organisation will have the option of displaying up to five large banners on site at SpringOut Fairday.
4.
Media exposure – representatives from the local media will be invited to attend the event. Your organisation will be highlighted to any media in attendance, as the main sponsor of the event. Your name will also be used in association with the event when advertising through print, radio and television media two months prior to and leading up to the event.
5.
Invitations – your business or organisation’s logo will be most prominently displayed on the invitations and advertisements that will be sent to up thousands of community members by direct marketing and online social media.
6.
Posters – your business or organisation logo will be prominently displayed on posters that advertise the event in the primary position associating directly with the title.
7.
Stall - your business or organisation will be entitled to a large stall with a marquee and up to three tables.
8.
Merchandise – any merchandise you may provide will be distributed to attendees throughout SpringOut Fairday for the purpose of fundraising. This merchandise may have your business or organisation’s name and logo written on the item.
9.
Website – On the SpringOut Fairday website your business or organisation’s logo will be most prominently displayed on the homepage directly associating with the feature title.
10.
Any additional advertising can be negotiated with the sponsorship manager.

Glamourous sponsorship This sponsorship package provides significant exposure of your brand to the Canberra lesbian, bisexual, transgender community allows your business or organisation to associate its brand with a high profile community event.
Package inclusions 1.
Invitations – your business or organisation’s logo will be prominently displayed on the invitations that will be sent to thousands of community members by direct marketing and online social media. Dimensions will be smaller than the logo of the platinum sponsor but larger than the silver and bronze sponsors.
2.
Posters – your business or organisation’s logo will be prominently displayed on posters that advertise the event. The dimensions of your logo will be less prominent than that of the platinum sponsor but larger than the silver sponsors.
3.
Banners – your organisation will have the option of displaying up to three large freestanding banners on site at SpringOut Fairday.
4.
Stall - your business or organisation will be entitled to a large stall with a marquee and up to three tables.
5.
Merchandise – any merchandise you may provide will be distributed to attendees throughout SpringOut. This merchandise may have your business or organisation’s name and logo written on the item.

Rainbow sponsorship This sponsorship package provides excellent exposure of your brand to the Canberra lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, and allows your business or organisation to associate its brand with a high profile community event.

Invitations – your business or organisation’s logo will be prominently displayed on the invitations that will be sent to thousands of community members by direct marketing and online social media. Dimensions will be smaller than the emblem of the platinum and gold sponsor but larger than the bronze sponsor.

Posters – your business or organisation’s logo will be prominently displayed on posters that advertise the event. The dimensions of your logo will be less prominent than that of the platinum and gold sponsor.

Sponsorship terms • Where logos are required they must be provided to the AIDS Action Council in TIFF, EPS, AI or other suitable format and received by COB 17 September 2010. • Where an organisation wishes to distribute targeted marketing material to attendees, approval must be sought from the AIDS Action Council.
