MC Newsletter #7

Conference updates! *drum roll please!* Conference season will be officially opened soon! In the weekend of 16-18 September your EBs will gather for an EB conference (name to be determined) that will downscale the knowledge we will gain at IC and to prepare them for recruitment and the last half of their term. They will come back with lots of knowledge and new skills to rock AIESEC in Slovenia harder than ever! Also new on the conference agenda this year: NICo! Yes the first national induction conference is going to happen! More information to follow soon but the dates have been set for 21-23 October so keep your agenda empty as there will also be a track for current members!

NST Roles As you have seen, we have 2 NSTs: Celia and Anja. You all know Anja but for more information about Celia, please see the Facebook post that Yara created in the @ in Slovenia FB page. You might be wondering what their role will be in the entity so we use this space to explain it in more detail. Celia: TM manager. She will work closely with Thijs and the TM responsibles in every entity. She has a huge amount of experience and will help us with closing the knowledge gap, the national education cycle and recruitment in the first few months. She will also give trainings, webinars and help create the content of conferences. If you have more questions regarding her role, please ask Thijs. Anja is the Digital Marketing Manager and will help Yara with managing Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google AdWords. Also they will work together on improved lead nurturing via email. Anja and Yara will create the strategies but the LCs will still deliver the content for the social media so we won’t take all work away in this area. For more questions regarding Anja’s role, ask Yara.

What has Thijs been up to? Hey AIESEC! This week has been interesting! Last Thursday I was invited to present the results of the YouthSpeak Survey at the International Business SummerSchool of Zavod Ypsilon. My presentation was well received and I got the chance to talk with a diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is very happy to meet me and to discuss how AIESEC can cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On Friday I was on EDIT, the summer school of Comtrade, where I got to talk with some IT students who were willing to go on exchange with AIESEC. It gave me the idea that we should rethink our promotion strategies. As these students have proven to be pro-active and willing to develop themselves, which make them the perfect candidates. By researching specific events we only target potential EPs that pretty much preselected themselves. This week I mainly worked together with the Board of Presidents, we decided on the dates of the two upcoming conferences. As well as I've had individual meetings with the LCPs and the MCVPs. Tomorrow I'm going to Kranj and on Friday I'm meeting with Katja, so the rest of the week promises to be great! Big hug

And what about Dejan?

Dejan left to Macedonia last week and is now enjoying the beach somewhere with his family. This week he worked on the application of a US Embassy grant for YouthSpeak Forum we are applying for. As he is on vacation, answers to emails will take a bit longer. For any urgent matters, contact Thijs.

And Rachael?

Rachael is enjoying her Schengen visa and is visiting some friends and relatives in Munich at the moment. She will be back in the office on Monday and reply to emails again. She has been working on iGV booklets for companies and has had meetings with her LCVPs and some organizations.

And Yara? Busy last week with:

Priorities for the upcoming week:

 Merging (Facebook) pages

 Finalizing IC meetings

 OGX tracking tool

 Meeting with Slovakia

 Finding opportunities with EPs

 Meeting with Bulgaria

 B2C meeting

 Finalize merging of Facebook pages

 NST meetings with Anja  Setting up IC meetings

 Start creating a recruitment strategy for marketing together with Celia and TM

And Alina? AIESECers, last week was all about meetings. On Thursday together with Thijs we worked from ABC Accelerator and attended the networking event by Zavod Ypsilon, on Friday me and my lovely OC Janja had a meeting with Deloitte. We will keep you updated on how our cooperation is evolving. On Monday me and Thijs were visiting Hill International and we might landed ourselves the workshop facilitator for YSF. From today on I'm starting my vacations and will travel to Ukraine. The plan is to be back straight after IC with a lot of motivation and new knowledge to make AIESEC n Slovenia an even better entity! Emails to Alina will be responded to late as well while she is in Turkey, for urgent questions regarding BD or YSF, ask Thijs.
