Words from the MCP Elect Hey Applicant, I’m Mike Karr, the guy AIESEC in Ireland has decided to have run the show next year. You may know me from my former appearances in AIESEC Canada, or IC 2014 (346), but for those of you who don’t, you really only need to know one thing about me. I like to get shit done. Do you like to get shit done? Perfect! Get this application done. Do it because you love a challenge. Do it because you want to impact Ireland. Do it because you know you’re a beauty, and you belong on my team of stone-cold AIESEC legends. AIESEC in Ireland is not an easy entity to work for. This is a small entity, which has struggled for many years. Your home entity is not like this one. This is your chance to take on a unique challenge that is absolutely not for everyone. You will need to be resilient, quick on your feet, independent and driven. You will have bad days, and you will have the best days. You will be respected for your actions alone, and those actions are entirely under your control. This experience is for you to create. My team will determine the future of this entity alongside the membership, who have been very patient in waiting for their time to shine. I wouldn’t be here as MCPe if I didn’t believe we have world-class members. Every member of my team will be held accountable to the membership, and responsible for delivering on the vision we create together. How you deliver is up to you. So will you be a legend or just another person who was on the MC in Ireland? This is entirely for you to decide, but I promise if you make the choice to strive for greatness, I will do everything in my power to help you get there. In the words of the great Chael Sonnen:
“When doubt seeps in you got two roads, you can take either road. You can go to the left or you can go to the right and believe me, they’ll tell you failure is not an option. That is ridiculous. Failure is always an option. Failure is the most readily available option at all times, but it’s a choice. You can choose to fail, or you can choose to succeed.” If you choose to succeed, then get to work, you have an application to write.
