CONCEPT INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

International Congress is the annual convening of AIESEC and its members from 126 countries /territories, aimed at celebrating youth leadership, cultural diversity and global togetherness. Two days of our International Congress will be dedicated to the YouthSpeak Forum. We will gather 850-1000 young and passionate leaders on August 23rd and 24th from 126 countries and territories in New Dehli, India to define forward thinking approaches and commitments to leading global transformational change in 2015.

YOUTHSPEAK FORUM

YouthSpeak Forum is an event that takes place in multiple locations around the world; bringing top young leaders together with business leaders, thought leaders, and experts for a conversation around pressing global issues with the aim to generate new, and most importantly, actionable ideas that will impact the world and its future. We make this happen by taking our participants through our unique interactive framework of Inspire, Engage, Act. Global YouthSpeak Forum 2015 Theme: LEADING TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE We will gather 850-1000 young and passionate leaders from 126 countries and territories in New Dehli, India on August 23rd and 24th 2015 to define forward thinking approaches and commitments to leading global transformational change in 2015. Â

THEME The 2015 theme is focused on Transformational Leadership, and the essence of leading transformational change. By closely assessing the world’s most pressing challenges in technology, sustainability, and global citizenship, we will assess the role of youth in making changes by committing to action to make a true impact. Given the context of 2015, we will seek to answer the following questions: •  What kind of leadership is needed to solve the most pressing global challenges? •  What can we learn from transformational leaders and organizations that have positively disrupted their sectors to make massive impact and social change? •  What is the role of our generation to lead transformational change in 2015?

INTERACTIVE FRAMEWORK

INSPIRE Top business and thought leaders from around the world are invited to share their knowledge with the delegates about the chosen forum theme. This secAon of the day is delivered through short and powerful talks and aims to inspire delegates and help to form their opinions for the rest of the day.

The aim is to switch their ideas into acAons that each stakeholder can take forward to contribute to the theme of the day, resulAng in commitments and projects that organizaAons and stakeholders can support.

THEMES

THEMES This year we chose 3 main themes that impact young people and today’s world. We will focus all of our discussions on: Technological Transformation, Sustainability and Global Citizenship

TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION

Imagine that the year is now 2020. Life has never been more exciting. Such a vast array of information is now accessible, and, more importantly, useful, to the citizens of the world. Advancements in massive-scale, deep learning, and predictive analytics technologies make this all possible. New technologies and innovations are constantly changing and improving the way we do things and approach problems. Processes, institutions and industries that have been around and unchanged for decades are now being rethought and redesigned with the aid of technology. We’ll look more deeply into some of the top technological transformation and trends.

SUSTAINABILITY

The world’s population of 7 billion is likely to increase to 9 billion by 2050. The demand for diminishing natural resources is growing. Income gaps are widening. What does a sustainable future actually look like?

“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” - 1987’s Brundtland Report We will examine the many facets of sustainability - sustainable development, resilience, sustainable entrepreneurship, Triple Bottom Line, corporate social responsibility, and how they intersect, zooming in on some key issues, breaking it down by sector. Looking ahead, we will identify what changes are needed to make the transition from the Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development Goals, and the role of youth across sectors in making the goals a reality.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

Global citizenship typically defines a person who places their identity with a "global community" above their identity as a citizen of a particular nation or place. The idea is that one’s identity transcends geography or political borders and that the planetary human community is interdependent and whole; humankind is essentially one. In recent years, globalization has led to unprecedented levels of change in areas from the economy to the environment, from the way we do business to the way we interact with media. As the pace of globalization continues to increase, new opportunities and challenges will arise for leaders and communities. While globalization has brought immense benefits to many sectors, certain countries and individuals remain vulnerable, whose interests should be protected and promoted. How can societies best approach the challenges this presents?

“The Forum generates the YouthSpeak output of concrete ideas and actions.”

BREAKOUT SESSIONS WORKSHOPS

DESIGNING IDEAS

PITCHING FOR PARTNERSHIPS

In these interactive sessions, participants learn more deeply about a specific topic in order to spark ideas to design projects and commitments. Participants brainstorm and generate answers to specific “how” questions, creating forward-thinking solutions and refining new approaches to global challenges. In teams, participants materialize ideas by identifying goals, timeline, and resources required. Participants “pitch” their commitments to action and project ideas to an expert panel, then network with the audience to rethink their current strategies, identify potential resources, and establish innovative partnerships.

PLENARIES Plenaries are sessions for the entire audience, bringing together key leaders to present cross-sector perspectives and methods for reimagining solutions to global challenges through panels or keynotes.

INSIGHTS

PANELS

We will hear inspiring speeches from experts in the areas sharing their experiences and knowledge. The insights will be focused on transformational change and leadership stories, stories of success and failure. These 15-30 minute panel sessions will consist of presentations and open discussion by 4-6 panelists directly engaging with the conference audience on two different topics: Collaborating & Connecting for Good & Transformational Leadership Stories
