ABOUT NIGERIA: LAGOS
AIESEC LAGOS was created 40 years ago and over the years has evolved into one of AIESEC Nigeria’s leading local committees with her perfect blend of people, culture and learning fun environment. Home to over 50 local government areas, Lagos is a port and the most populous in Nigeria. The third mainland bridge connecting Lagos island to the mainland is the longest bridge in Africa. It measures about 11.5 km. It is the second fastest growing city in Africa. You just cannot have enough of Lagos’s Amala, Ewedu, Efo, local porridge. Iganmu is home to the primary centre for the performing arts and artistes in Nigeria. Paul McCartney also recorded his third post Beatles album in Lagos in 1973. Lagos is noted for her beautiful sandy beaches like the Elegushi beach, Alpha beach, Oniru Beach, Lekki conservation park, The National Museum and the feel of Friday’s groove at the freedom park and her wonderful night life.The second World African Festival of Arts and Culture was held in Festac town, Lagos in 1977.
PROJECT PRESENTATION
Project Care is a health empowerment initiative designed by AIESEC Lagos that seeks to groom families, students and communities on health related issues. It looks at bringing together interns and health personnel from different parts of the world and within Lagos that are knowledgeable and experienced in health issues as it relates to Sickle cell, Malaria, HIV/AIDS, and cancer. Furthermore, the second phase of the project involves working with kids in orphanages, Working together as international facilitators and going through trainings in health empowerment based NGO’s, Hospitals and orphanages in Lagos, the interns are required to work in only ONE phase. At the end of their training, they shall impact their acquired skills and knowledge on students of the university by conducting a free medical check up session and seminar.
REQUIRED NUMBER OF INTERNS A total of 15 interns from various regions of the world are required for the smooth run of PROJECT CARE with the health based NGOs. • • • •
JOB DESCRIPTION Provide supportive leadership to all NGO activities. Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities for all health related events. Research and provide innovative approaches to all organisational goals. Liaising and negotiating with medical and non medical staff internally and with people in external organisations.

EDEN PROJECT
The Eden Project is an educational/poverty alleviation based initiative, designed with the aim of laying a solid learning background for the kids within the age bracket of (2-15 years) through a “Fun-Learning� structure and amongst the seemingly uneducated adults of The Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state, to stimulate the burning desire to consider basic education and acquisition of skills a necessity of life while providing them with the basic necessities of life.
JOB DESCRIPTION • The interns are to contribute to the establishment of a permanent outstanding learning mechanism that ensures consistent development in the reading culture of kids and adults. • The interns are to provide a platform for uneducated adults to experience the excitement in being learned. • The interns are to facilitate effective partnerships with NGOs, educational consultants, international facilitators to further strengthen the educational system in The Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state. • The interns are to facilitate a process that increases the grow-have fun, while learning awareness through basic education. • The interns are to share, ideas, experiences and innovative approaches for the effective boosting and transformation of the educational sector in The Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state.
EXPLORE TECH PROJECT
The Explore Tech Project is an Information and Technology based initiative designed by AIESEC Lagos that looks at bringing together interns from different parts of the world and within Lagos that are knowledgeable and experienced in Information and Technology, graphic designing, computational thinking, new media literacy and digital marketing. Working together as international facilitators, interns would undergo trainings with IT companies and NGOs. At the end of their training, they shall impact their acquired skills and knowledge on youths of communities and students of the university by conducting a free IT session and seminar. We would provide a platform for our international facilitators to mingle with Nigerians to discuss and address employability problems and the IT world.
For the smooth run of the project, 20 interns from various regions of the world would be placed to work in these organisations. • • • • •
JOB DESCRIPTION The intern is solely responsible for delivering innovative, cost effective and efficient IT solutions to all clients with the assistance of the management. The intern is expected to work closely with the designated team to meet all bottom lines and boost the organisation’s on line presence through social media platforms. The intern is expected to submit a weekly report to the local committee The intern while working four times a week is expected to investigate and diagnose network problems, collect IT usage stats, while making recommendations for innovative ways to improve the company’s IT systems. The intern is Responsible for carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
ION FAS PROJECT
A fashion, art and culture based initiative designed by AIESEC Lagos that looks at bringing interns from various regions of the world with basic knowledge about fashion merchandising, Working together as international facilitators in enhancing the appreciation of the Nigerian culture. This project centres on showcasing diverse African cultures and lifestyles to the world by getting the interns to work with fashion, local art and dance houses. On their 5th week, an exhibition /global village would be organized for display of all cultures and everything learnt and done, Almost all jobs now require some basic understanding and know how of a different skill as such, We would provide a platform for our international facilitators to mingle with Nigerians to discuss and address employability problems as it relates to the ever growing fashion world. JOB DESCRIPTION • The interns are to work under the direction of their supervisors in managing all seasonal events and sales.
• The interns are solely responsible for the production of new savvy styles and services after being trained thoroughly. • The interns are to assemble and coordinate the details od the seasonal organisational products and services while working as a team in design and merchandising and being trend savvy. • The interns are solely responsible for brand empowering young girls in their 5th week of work in a community. • The interns are to assist in managing these organisations by implementing innovative approaches in terms of art, culture and fashion,

LIVING LAGOS!!! As part of our intern development process, we understand that often times some of EPS might find it hard to blend into the real world’s competitive nature, but this is no problem, as members of our local Committee would be fully involved in developing the interns with classes in one of the following: English, crafts and life skills, depending on the intern’s interest.
