LCP ELECTIONS 2014/2015 On the 28TH February, 2014, AIESEC LAGOS held its Legislative meeting and Local committee President’s election, with Eyewuene Murphy–Akpieyi and Olasubomi Archibong as applicants for the position. At the end of the Election, Eyewuene Murphy-Akpieyi emerged as the Local Committee President of AIECEC Lagos after rigorous stages of interview, manifesto reading and election.

LEGISLATIVE MEETING During the Legislative meeting, a motion was raised By AIESECer Raquel Jacobs and seconded by AIESECer Okusanya Modupe to split 3 functional areas as follows OGX(Outgoing Exchange) into oGIP and oGCDP Projects/ICX(Incoming Exchange) into iGIP, Projects and iGCDP BD (Business Development) into Cooperate sales and Non Cooperate sales A motion was raised by Okusanya Modupe and seconded by Esohe Igbinoba for Recruitment of AIESEC Lagos to be opened to students in Lagos, and not just University of Lagos alone. All Motions had majority voted for and were carried.
LC PROJECTS PEARL PROJECT THEME: A FOCUS GROUP DISSCUSSION ON MALARIA VENUE: BISHOP HOWELLS MEMORIAL PRIMARY SCHOOL DATE: 21ST, JULY 2014 Embracing a malaria free generation was the main objectives of the program and creating awareness about malaria. The event started with the movement of the logistics team from Unilag to the school at about 10am to set the operations for the events in motion. The headmistress of the school was notified and a class was set up for our use. Meanwhile, the arrival of VP Projects Rachael Bassey and other volunteers which comprised of AIESECers and non-AIESECers commenced the program at about 12pm. The volunteers were given cardboards to write on and design about the malaria project while the VP Projects introduced AIESEC and the malaria projects to the pupils. Then she also introduced the doctors that would speak and the volunteers with their cardboards. We had two doctor s speak . Dr. Emeka spoke on what malaria is, its carrier, its mode of transmission, and its symptoms, its preventive and curable measures. Recreation games were created dancing and singing, taking pictures and the pupils were given a task to draw a mosquito the volunteers assisted by showing the pupils pictures to draw from. The gifts given to best pupils signified the end of the event.

Good News: The University of Lagos Authorities has recently given AIESEC Lagos the permission to replace the caravan with a new container office. And as an LC, we have scaled up our operations to enable us raise some substantial amount for the project.

OUTGOING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME REPORT The OGCDP Vice president, Ugochukwu Modum wrote to the Dean of student affairs, and was given permission to send messages to final year students and sell exchange opportunities to them, thereafter an information session was held for final year students. Two information sessions were also held at The Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education for the Two main sub-products of OGCDP( EDUXPRO AND SOSSAIP). The LC currently has about 50 Raisings for winter realizations of OGCDP . Companies/Individuals interested in advertising their brand on shirts and items our GIP and GCDP interns would wear abroad should contact the vice presidents responsible.

IGCDP & PROJECTS AIESEC Lagos currently has an Intern House. Situated at 17a, University Road, Abule-Oja, Lagos, to house IGCDP interns. This would ensure interns are close to the LC and have the proper integration as required for standards and satisfaction in our exchange processes. The EDEN Project Starts January, 2015-June 2015.
OBJECTIVES OF THE EDEN PROJECT. To contribute to the establishment of a permanent outstanding learning mechanism that ensures consistent development in the reading culture of kids and adults. To provide a platform for uneducated adults to experience the excitement in being learned. To facilitate effective partnerships with NGOs, educational consultants, international facilitators to further strengthen the educational system in The Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state. To facilitate a process that increases the grow-have fun while learning awareness through basic education. To share, ideas, experiences and innovative approaches for the effective boosting and transformation of the educational sector in The Dustbin Estate in Awodiora, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Development Area, Lagos state.
