Originally founded in 1958, AIESEC in South Africa was the first African entity to join the AIESEC global network. As a constantly changing entity, it has had to develop, reinvent itself, and succeed in difficult circumstances. It also became the first African entity to host an AIESEC International Congress in 1999. Today, volunteering projects are a key part of the network and various partnerships with NGOs and companies are key to the impact made yearly.

Geographically, South Africa is divided into 9 provinces. Gauteng and the Western Cape which are home to Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively, are two of the more well known provinces. Being such a large country with a rich history, South Africa is also very diverse both in terms of the cultures of the people and the natural ecosystems. The most popular sports are Football, Rugby and Cricket, although many other sports enjoy large followings in the country. The country has won the 1995 and 2005 Rugby World Cups, hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and is home to a number of past Olympic Gold Medal Winners. The national anthem of South Africa is known as 'Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika‘ which translates to ‘God Bless Africa’. The anthem features multiple languages.

South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and is well know for its various natural views which can be enjoyed in all corners of the country

With many people from many different countries, South Africa boasts a wide range of tasty dishes. The recent growth of food markets means that there are also many unique types of food to enjoy as well.

As a country which has had to deal with a mixed past, there are various museums and historical sites to learn interesting facts in. Many South Africans also practice their own unique customs so it is a great place to learn about the way other people live
