Registration

Preparation

Application Approved

Registration • Create an account in the opportunities portal

(-> opportunities.aiesec.org). • Be as thorough as you can when completing

your profile. •

Upload your best CV in an international format.

• Registration to the opportunities portal is FREE.

Application • Look for opportunities in our portal and apply for them. • You can apply to as many opportunities as you want, for free. • Applying does not commit you to any opportunity. Keep applying! • Once you have said “YES” to an opportunity, and the people on the other side said “YES” too, then you create a commitment and all other applications stop.

Approved • After both you and the company or association said “Yes”, the other country must send you a confirmation letter.

• Log in to your account in the opportunities portal, click on “My Application”, click on the opportunity that accepted you, read the Acceptance Note, accept it, and fill the survey. •

Tell your EP manager so you can make the payment for the program: R 2,000 for Global Volunteer R 3,500 for Global Talent

Preparation Documentation • Visa • Ask the AIESEC members in the other country (not South Africa) to provide you with a list of things you will need to get your visa. • Make sure to follow EVERY INSTRUCTION. Visas are a delicate matter, saying one word differently, or one paper missing can result into not getting it. Please make sure you follow every instruction and recommendation.

• International insurance • Get international health or travelers insurance. • Must cover your whole stay of Global Volunteer. • Must cover, at least your first month of Global Talent. • You can then renew your insurance after your first salary comes. • You cannot leave the country without insurance.

Outgoing (OPS)

Preparation

Seminar

You MUST receive an OPS from the local committee closest to you before you leave. -> If not possible, you can receive it ONLINE (not recommended).

You will not be able to leave the country if you do not receive an OPS.

During the OPS you must receive the Exchange Program Policies (XPPs). Sign a copy for the committee, and keep another one.

Departure • Once you have paid to AIESEC, obtained the right visa, insurance, and have received an OPS, it is time for you to go.

• Remember the knowledge acquired during the OPS. • Once you land in the other country, everything must be handled by the committee that receives you, and AIESEC in the receiving country. AIESEC in South Africa becomes your support, but stops being in charge.

Getting back home • When you come back, we will be here to receive you, help you assimilate to home. As once you have been abroad, everything changes for you.
