NURUL JIHAN HASRIL My name is Nurul Jihan Hasril and you can call me Jihan. I joined Break Up The Barriers project in Denizli, Turkey. I was in Turkey for 6 weeks. Break Up The Barriers project is a project to teach children with disabilities and special needs. I was teaching in one of public rehabilitation named Bilgi Dolu. The rehabilitation place was only for children. I worked for 4 days a week from 9 am until 12pm. Every day I met different children with different needs also. The struggle that I faced when i was there is a language because majority of Turkish can’t speak english. But they’re very kind and helpful The moment that I spent with children in the rehabilitation place was so precious for me. I think I was more independent and more grateful for everything that happens in my life. Dont forget to look around and always grateful for what you already have.

AMELIA ASKIN
I do encourage young people all over the world to take the lead by engaging themselves to give contribution to the communities. As the independence of Indonesia obtained since 1945 has never been separated from the involvement of youth with strong determination of their country, I believe it’s important to be inclusive in working with youth as they bring positive energy and always come up with innovative solution to their community. -Amelia Askin, exchange participant of Outgoing Global Talent in Delhi Public School, India

AIESEC IN UNHAS | STORY
My name is Amelia Askin and now I am doing my internship in Delhi Public School Pali Road, Jodhpur, India. It’s one of the largest chains of private schools established in India and abroad since 1949. Nowadays, there are over 200 branches in India and other countries, such as Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Indonesia. I’m interested to join this program because it provides opportunity for young people to develop their potential both personal and professional through international experience. In India, I live in such a beautiful place called Ashiana Amarbah when you can see anything so clean and well organized. That’s a very supportive environment to live in and the people are so kind and friendly. In the morning,
I have to be ready at 6.45 because the school bus is coming. The school began at 7.30 for seniors and 8.30 for junior. As I teach pre-elementary, I arrive at school very early before my students. It gives me chance to prepare anything before the class began and Bhawna Mam is there to help me, we’re pairing teacher in Prep-A and she is also the supervisor for pre-elementary class so it allows me to get deeper understanding about anything related to the class management.
Here, I teach English, Math and Environmental Science and I also get involved in activities conducted by the school. Anyway, my exchange year is not only about teaching but also travelling with others interns that makes this experience more interesting. Playing a role as a mother teacher in Delhi Public School allows me to get deeper understanding about how to educate children. That’s all about to establish good work ethic yet to be more sincere as a person. Furthermore, I fell so contented doing this internship and thanks AIESEC for leading me to this life-changing opportunity.

MEET INCHI HOY AIESEC! I am Inchi and this is my story. It is an honor for me to be one of the Candidate of Indonesia Participating Youth of The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2018. This opportunity is also a big responsibility for me because for the first time bring the name of the province of South Sulawesi to the International arena. I will be in Japan for about 2-3 months with a youth and cultural mission. And all this can happen in my life, one of them thanks to my AIESEC journey. Indirectly also, it was AIESEC that made me know, ventured and confident to register this youth exchange program. It all started when I was seeing one of the posts from AIESEC alumni in her social media which had once also participated in this youth exchange program. I can go through a series of selection processes and take me to this extent. In some of the selection processes there was one moment that made me realize that my experiences while at AIESEC made me able to tell a lot of story to the selection committee regarding what I had done for the community, what were my social contributions so far and other achievements. I can answer all that thanks to AIESEC. AIESEC journey is invaluable and expensive in the ears of the people who hear it. And I am today is person who stand because of the support of many people―
