Fun Fact About AIESEC

*AIESEC Global Annual Report 2017-2018

It all started in the summer of 2017. I joined AIESEC was because I want to MOVE ON from my ex. Sounded excessive, but that's what it is was. I started my AIESEC experience as a local volunteer on the Heroes For Life 1.0 Project. Where I became a committee, in general, I think it only worked with fellow committee members, but it was totally wrong. I also had to help up to translate to Indonesian when we held a campaign and that thing was very challenging for me because typically I'm shy when speaking in public and my English was not good. My journey as a local volunteer was not easy. Tears, angry, struggle, patient, fight, less sleep, confuse, it almost happened in every moment. But from that, do not discourage me to join in AIESEC. Meet the AIESECer for the first time, seems we have been friends for a long time. They are so kind, funny, crazy, humble, always smile, they teach me, they support me and It makes me felt like it's my “home”. So, I decided to join the Global Leader and passed it.

MEET ANDINI

My first role as an OCVP Partnership Explore East Indonesia 1.0 Project and it was a hard experience too. Cried in front of the regent, got mad from the government, we argued against the local community, but from that, I got a lot of experience and lesson. After that, I become an IR & Matching Manager in IGV. And it was also a struggling experience. I have to reach 80 eps, I lost my staff and didn't care with our job, got high pressure from my TL, I also ever have a quarrel with my TL. But it didn't make me want to stop to continue my journey. Then, I become a Quality Experience Manager in IGV and from that until now, I am an IR & Quality Manager of OGT, finally, I got a fucking great staff. And I thankful for that, because finally, I can feel of being a leader, that responsible for our target, team, and my staff development. If you read this, most of my journey was a “bad” experience. If you were in my position maybe you want to quit at the time. But, I am really thankful for all of the experience that I passed. Because AIESEC has changed me to become the best version of me.

In the last summer, I decided to join one of the AIESEC in Unhas program, which is OGV. I took this opportunity to challenge myself to be a better me for sure. The project that I applied was "Sawasdee Thailand Project". A project that supports SDGs number 4 which is Quality Education. I was an English Teacher in primary school at Udon Thani Province for 6 weeks. My days passed with a lot of obstacles but I enjoyed a lot and I survived! Thai people are super kind. I got a host family that really love me like I was their own son even the teacher in my school treated me with lots of love.

MEET ISWANTO

Because of them, I've never felt lonely. During my #ExperienceGlobalVolunteer, I learned a lot of things that could help me to develop myself. Challenge me to live in diversity, adapt in a different culture, find a new perspective, and making an international connection. Every single day that I had there will be the best experience in my life. Because of this, I can give a positive impact that has been able to make a change to the people. Last but not least, also representing Indonesia is a pride of me. Besides that, being a part of this journey helps me to understand the world and my journey in Thailand makes me more, I love Indonesia.
