Outgoing Preparation Seminar Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS) AIESEC in Universitas Hasanuddin, is a seminar with the theme Challange Your Limit which proposed for Exchange Participants (EPs) candidates. They will go to exchange for their respective countries with the aim of preparing both knowledge and mental preparation for each EPs before leaving this country to do the project abroad. This op was held on Thursday, 23rd May 2019 in Temang Cafe, Jl. Topaz Raya Ruko Vidaview Apartment, Panakkukang Makassar. OPS expectations are very interesting and exciting according to reality, the situation itself runs well and looks enthusiastic. There were 9 EPs attending to the OPS. One of the EPs gave an opinion at the seminar. "OPS is very good to me, besides my preparation seminar as EP, I also feel OPS is an activity that inspires me as an EP before leaving the realization project" Eveline, Malaysia. For this summer, there are 5 countries, South Korea, Czech, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Most of the projects are number 4 in SDG'S namely Quality Education. One of the example from Sindy, she is EP who will go to Thailand with the Sawasdee project (SDG'S 4 Quality Education) which is teaching in the Rural Area about English.
"Hopefully with this OPS, the EPs will know about their goals for this exchange program and can improve their leadership skills by directly contributing to SDG's for a better world." Mutiara, VP OGV.

*AIESEC Global Annual Report 2017-2018
It all started from me being a spoiled laidback girl. All i wanna do is to just finished school, having fun, make a lot of money, and just able to get what I want. That was who I am. 17 years old me. That’s how shallow I was. And then University life hit me. They keep telling me about how important it is to have experiences outside academic life, because real life will check your CV and your skills. Therefore, I tried several organizations, they develop me into a person who cares more about outside world. But, those organization don’t make me feel like I’m giving much impacts. They just too focused on the internal conditions. Then, I knew AIESEC. I found out that they able to make me contribute to the world. I was 19 years old back then. I was really concerned about gender inequality and trying my best to be a feminist, but all I did was just reposting things on social media. Then, I went to a project in India through AIESEC, which called “Project Women Empowerment”. Honestly, that project was a dissapointment. I did not feel like I’m making a lot of impacts. But, I really feel there are so many improvement that I got from there. Going outside your comfort zone really matters.
MEET JELITA
So, when I got back to Indonesia, without hesitation, I want to be an AIESECer. For a year, I was a part of Brand and Information Management functional. From there, I feel so purposeful. That’s because I feel like I make a lot of impacts for hundreds of people through social media posts. It’s crazy how words and picture can change one’s life. After that, I want to try something different. I was a part of Incoming Global Volunteer, specifically for Heroes for Life 4.0 project. It was really challenging for me, because I was never been a part of IGV before, then suddenly I become a leader in that functional. The culture shock made me resilient. That role really shape me into a strong and solution oriented person. Then at last, I was trying to apply as VP Marketing, but I got allocated to Talent Management. At first, I was scared. It’s because it’s a new environment for me and it has huge responsibility to bear with. So far, I realize how hard it was, but I get trough it until now. There are no regrets of me taking this role. This role made me realize on how every AIESECers matters and they all important. This role really made me into a person that cares more toward people, even for the smallest things. That was my journey so far. AIESEC changed my life and still changing it until now. I’m still on my journey to progress into a better person. Thank you for hearing my story. 8
Around October 2018 I began to find out about the Outgoing Global Volunteer Program held by AIESEC, even though at first I was hesitant to take the opportunity to be the part in this Volunteering Project because it would be my new experience to be in another country alone but not reduce my intention really like social activities like this, finally I ventured to register a project that in my opinion is very interesting, namely the PEARL Project which discusses the number 10 SDGS, Social and Gender Equality which as we know it is happening a lot in this country of Indonesia. A self-receipt was finally accepted at the project carried out by Yonsei University, a prestigious university in Seoul, South Korea. After the preparatory process that I passed, on December 31, I arrived at Incheon International Airport, Seoul. exceeding my expectations that morning I was warmly welcomed by members of AIESEC Yonsei and other Exchange Participants who would take part in the project, it was like all my fears disappeared that day too, the day I passed there opened up my broader insight into the problems of what is happening and we are facing in this world especially regarding social and gender discrimination that is happening in various countries in the world
MEET AISYAH
Opened my mind about the importance of Gender Equality in this world where there are still many women out there who get unfair treatment in various fields. By participating in this OGV project I also learned a lot about the culture of other countries, and apart from all that is very valuable for me is that I get a new family from various countries, they treat me well even the saddest thing about joining this project is separating with those who accompanied my day for almost two months in Seoul. With all the new experiences, new insights, and relatives of new relatives that I can bring back to Indonesia. I want to say that we, as young people should not spend time in our youth just wasted, seek as many new experiences as possible, because of the small things we do now will have a big impact on our future, not only for ourselves but other things around us.
