People on teams assume different “team roles”
•
A “team role“ is a tendency to behave, with others in a certain way
•
He derived 9 roles from those he observed that people will fall under
•
Each team role will determine the team’s success.

Every team member as two or three more dominant team roles
•
The ideal team should have people with all 9 team roles
•
Is recommended to know your team roles, to understand better what is your contribution to the team and which weaknesses you must pay attention to

4 – Team Formation Process 1 - Forming

Most team members are positive and polite
• •
Team members' roles and responsibilities aren't clear
Some are anxious or excited, as they haven't fully understood what work the team will do
This stage can last for some time, as people start to work together, and as they make an effort to get to know their new colleagues.
4 – Team Formation Process 2 - Storming
•
Storming often starts where there is a conflict between team members' natural working styles
•
Some may question the worth of the team's goal, and they may resist taking on tasks
•
Team members who stick with the task at hand may experience stress, they don’t feel the support or have strong relationships with their colleagues.

•
This is when people start to resolve their differences, appreciate colleagues' strengths
•
Now that team members know one another better, they may socialize together
•
Team Members are able to ask one another for help and provide constructive feedback.
•
People develop a stronger commitment to the team goal, and you start to see good progress towards it.

When hard work leads, without friction, to the achievement of the team's goals

Members have more confidence working and are more independent
