Local Committee President Application Booklet
Dear candidates for LCP 2016 of AIESEC in Venezuela, I though a lot before being able to write the right words for you because this is the first contact you make with one of the most important, demanding and gratifying leadership role of AIESEC: being President of a Local Committee. Being LCP goes beyond as a personal goal, it’s about your members, your entity and taking a protagonic and responsible role in the development of AIESEC in Venezuela. If your intentions are centered in only having personal relevance, giving amazing speeches and having a lot of recognitions… this is not your moment. All this experience is about feeling your entity inside you and leadership is only an opportunity to serve to others for just 366 days of 2016. You should learn a lot of concepts and have them present (AIESEC way, vision, mission, national plan), transform yourself in a role model for your LC (personal branding) and sacrifying personal and sometimes academic moments to fulfill your responsabilities. A LCP is conscious that takes part of something bigger than his local entity, he’s a small fraction of a global legacy of more than 60 years and his principal role is focused in delivering all the leadership and exchange experiences as possible from his role, because this is the way AIESEC impacts in a direct and indirect way socially.
Probably you will live many hard moments in this adventure, especially when you find out that you are not leadering your entitiy as you expected and your results are not related to what you planned. Remember that you are the principal responsible of your team image, of engaging their ideas and orienting them to be the better version of themselves. After this words I hope that you had observed that being an LCP is not simple and if you don’t have enough conviction to take this challenge, you need to think it better and don’t fill this application booklet in this moment. However, if you know this overview and your answer is a big… YES! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! So, Welcome to the selection processes of Local Committee Presidents 2016, good luck!
