Best Email Security Solution
Clearswift Clearswift is trusted by organisations globally to protect their critical information, giving them the freedom to securely collaborate and drive business growth. Their unique technology supports a straightforward and ‘adaptive’ data loss prevention approach, avoiding the risk of business interruption and enabling organisations to have 100% visibility of their critical information 100% of the time. We spoke with Dr. Guy Bunker, Senior Vice President – Products at Clearswift about the company’s continued innovation against data loss through email, and how they make sure their clients are protected from targeted and accidental data breaches.
Today’s businesses have a tough time managing email data, whether it’s an internal mail exchange, outbound mail or inbound traffic. Each of these could contain critical information that is integral to an organisation and could cause significant damage – financial or reputation – if shared with inappropriate or unauthorised individuals. And yet, the modern business is so reliant on email, but considering the risks, it is amazing that organisations allow email at all. Then again, just try switching it off… Every company has to employ email security, balanced with the ability to carry on conducting business freely. By following some basic principles, email can be allowed to move freely into, out of and around your enterprise while stopping the things that cause damage: malware (including viruses, spyware and advanced persistent threats or APTs), phishing, spam, the exchange of illegal, immoral or offensive material and, of course, the loss of sensitive or critical information.
and citizen information. Many of these regulations have severe financial penalties should they be breached. Clearswift has been a world leader in email security for over a decade, enabling its clients to secure against inbound attacks and inappropriate content such as pornography, and profanity from entering the network. Today it is also about protecting against advanced sophisticated attacks perpetrated through email with malware, such as APTs, which can be hidden inside documents as well as preventing good information from leaving or even ending up in the wrong hands within the organisation. Clearswift mitigates the
It’s not just your organisation that you need to be concerned with, legislation and compliance play a big part in the necessary adoption of securing email. Of course the financial industry is heavily regulated, but there are myriad different bodies who impose compliance rules around protecting information on organisations across many different sectors. International bodies such as the EU impose further regulations, for example, introducing new data protection acts for protecting both client information

‘insider threat’ (from both malicious and inadvertent events) enabling all email exchanges to be compliant and ensuring that sensitive data remains not just within the network, but also within the right parts of it and in the right hands. The fact is that there will continue to be ‘attacks’ and there will continue to be ‘human error’. In employing a Clearswift solution, organisations are afforded the protection and automation that is required for businesses to concentrate on their core business goals and collaborate securely, protecting the organisation from all types of email-born security threats.

Best for Ceramic Filtration System Design, Build & Installation & Innovation Award in Custom-Built Filters
Glosfume began in 1990 and has become one of the leading companies in hot gas ceramic filtration. The company provides a wide range of filtration systems to control emissions from many different types of processes. Exporting throughout Europe, also including USA and South Africa, our clients include French Nuclear fuels and blue chip companies such as Morgan Sindall.
Glosfume have designed and developed a new range of ceramic filters which can remove 99% of PM10 and 96% of all PM2.5 from Biomass Wood Fired Boilers. This allows Biomass Wood Fired Boilers to be used in Air Quality Management Areas (AQMA’s) and to easily qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Typical particulate emission levels using ceramic filtration are <3mg/Normal m3 (typically 1) which equates to <3g/GJ, 96% below the level of <30 g/GJ which is required for RHI funding. In 2008 Glosfume were asked by Angus Biofuels if they could reduce the emission from a biomass wood fired boiler at Ladyloan School in Scotland. Parents, school governors and the Local Authority had concerns about particulates, PM10 and PM2.5, dispersing in and around the school playground area and for this reason the boiler operation was to be suspended. The filter has now been in operation for 7 years still operating on the same set of ceramic elements. Glosfume designed a compact ceramic filter to suit the biomass boiler based on our standard technology used for incinerators and other industrial emissions abatement. The ceramic filter was installed summer 2008 and the results were beyond Angus Biofuels and the Local Authorities expectations. The measured particulate emission level was as low as 1mg/Normal m3. These results were confirmed in an independent report
issued by the Director of Corporate Services and confirmed the emission to be 96% below the Scottish target for 2020. Over 350 ceramic filter systems have now been installed controlling emissions from wood fired boilers from 50kW to 7MW in schools, hospitals, council offices, public swimming pools, universities and include the world famous Mackintosh School of Art in Glasgow. Glosfume BMF Filters have now been used by most of the leading Biomass boilers manufacturers and installers including Herz, Froling, Hargassner, Schmid, Weiss, Ashwell Biomass, British Gas, Broag Remeha, Wood Energy, Imperative Energy, Dalkia, Cofely, Rural Energy and Hoval. Our customers believe Glosfume have developed one of the most efficient filtration systems for Biomass Wood Fired Boilers. This ceramic filter will reduce particulate emission levels of Biomass Wood Fired Boilers to those approaching the level of Gas fired and well below Oil fired boilers. Previous awards we have won include: 2010 Rushlight award for Air Pollution Technology, 2012/13 Rushlight award for Clean Environment, 2012 British Renewable award for Techological Innovation, and the 2012 Winners of the Energy Globe National Award 2012.

CASE STUDY: CONTROLLING EMISSIONS FROM BIOMASS WOOD FIRED BOILERS NHS COMMISSIONS LOW CARBON BIOMASS HEATING SYSTEM Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust has chosen biomass technology to heat its new £40 million mental health facility ‘The Harbour’, in Blackpool. The Harbour project meets the high standards set by BREEAM to deliver a sustainable and low carbon building with a long future lifespan. This has been made possible by installing a Glosfume ceramic filter. The filter is capable of achieving an emission level of less than 3g/GJ which is 96% below the current RHI requirement. The new 600kW boiler will greatly reduce the facility’s energy bills whilst also providing a significant income from the government’s RHI scheme. The Harbour, which has 154 bedrooms, is one of the largest facilities of its type in the North West and will provide high quality inpatient care to those recovering from mental health issues. This design and development process was led by principal contractor Integrated Health Projects (IHP) - the P21, Sir Robert McAlpine/VINCI Construction UK joint venture.

TETRA Technologies, Inc. TETRA Technologies, Inc. is a geographically diversified oil and gas services company, focused on completion fluids and associated products and services, water management, frac flowback, production well testing, offshore rig cooling, compression services and equipment, and selected offshore services including well plugging and abandonment, decommissioning, and diving.

Since our inception, TETRA has had one goal: to deliver the best quality products and services based on innovative technologies, and best practices. We began in 1981 as a pioneer in the burgeoning completion fluids industry. Armed with new technology and a passion to succeed, our founders proved that focusing on customer needs positions us as a leader and supplier of choice in this market. To secure a guaranteed resource for our customers, we chose to make a substantial investment in the first clear brine fluid manufacturing facility dedicated to the oil and gas industry. Company: Webeye Limited Name: Clive Mason Email: clive.mason@webeyecms.com Address: 6a Hazel Court Blidworth Notts NG21 0RY Telephone:+44 115 714 9990
Best Cloud Security Software: Webeye CMS
Webeye Limited is the developer and host of the world’s first global fully cloud-based alarm receiving centre platform, which eliminates the need for expensive hardware or any costly monitoring station software.
Webeye’s platform accepts alarms from any IP alarm panel that supports the Contact ID protocol, an ever increasing number of visually verified alarm systems or its own lone worker app. The entire process is made incredibly convenient for our users who interact via a dedicated browser or smart phone app. The company’s USPs are: • Reliability: It manages the platform with a dedicated 24-hour team and has more cross checks and balances in place to ensure platform availability than any other system on the market. • Unique virtual alarm receiving, alarm management and processing: The service allows companies small and large to create one or thousands of virtual alarm monitoring stations that can be used in any country with access to the internet • Patented alarm delivery and response confirmation technique: The technology uses multiple and different technologies to deliver the alarm event and monitors for a response from the alarm recipients • Cost effective: There is no need to buy expensive alarm software, hardware or buildings to house everything. The PAYG ethos, along with the technical supervision of the platform, makes it simple for clients to monitor alarms without the start-up costs or expensive dedicated staff
Our virtual monitoring station platform really is the first of its kind. Among those who visit our facility, 85% convert and begin to use the service. They understand that the use of human beings alone can be costly and less efficient, used together with technology massively reduces the cost of the service while considerably improves efficiency and provides a more effective service.
We are constantly checking what’s out there and instead of re-inventing the wheel we add functionality that surpasses the technology currently available. For example, in the UK BS8484 governs lone worker devices. Not only do we meet the standard, we surpass it, covering nine elements we deem critical for the safety of a lone worker, yet not required by the standard.
Currently operating in seven English speaking countries, the company offers a virtual monitoring station package, currently focused on the guarding market. The main challenge has been getting our clients to understand the innovation and move towards this new era of alarm monitoring.
Our ‘monitor it yourself’ technology is also a growing trend. This has its dangers if the same or improved cross-checks and balances with regards to reliability and auditing are not similar to that contained within a traditional monitoring environment.
Our alarm platform cannot fail; if it fails then so do we. We must and should at all costs keep it alive, and if it were to fail, work tirelessly to resolve it without delay. Our work ethic is to ensure the staff understand the importance of platform availability and realise that, if it were to fail, many billions of dollars of assets would remain unprotected. We have secured one of the world’s biggest guarding companies as a client and they plan to roll out in several countries. This shows that the nature of the software is now being fully understood and this expansion will, of course, present many additional opportunities.

We are honoured to have been named “Best in Spe¬cialty Electrical Appliances – USA’ and ‘Best Washer/ Dryer: The Equator Super Combo EZ4000” . We are aware that we have many competitors in a market dominated by global brands. As an entrepreneurial company we focus on innovation and are gratified that our efforts have been noticed. We owe our success to our continuous focus on solving customer problems and enhancing features that will benefit the customer. Awards such as these are important for our company team members to know that we are on the right track, our motivational tools, and for business partners and customers to share such news for marketing purposes.

Company: Hogarths Hotels Name: Steven Quick Email: steven.quick@hogarths.co.uk Web Address: www.hogarths.co.uk Address: Four Ashes Road, Dorridge, Solihull, B93 8QE Telephone: 01564 779988
Best Luxury Hotel - Midlands & Consumer’s Choice: Best Midlands Fine Dining (8 Brasserie)
Hogarths Hotel Ltd was bought 11 years ago as family home for the Hogarths, and was previously an Bed and Breakfast called Moat Manor that was in need of some TLC. Over the past 11 years Helena Hogarth has worked tirelessly to restore the old manor house and its gardens and lake and private island back to its former glory. Over this time they have grown the hotel to 49 bedrooms and now have event space for up to 700 guests and are now a multimillion pound turnover hotel. We spoke to them about this transition, and their drive towards continued success.
The team at Hogarths are true providers of hospitality, and we have worked so hard this year to set ourselves apart from the competitor. Winning an award like this allows us to be seen on a world stage. The hotel is based in Solihull, and not a lot of people know that Solihull is the main hub for Birmingham. We have an international train station, Birmingham international Airport is in Solihull and we also house the National Exhibition Centre as well as being on the edge of three major motorway networks. The team are great and we love it that we can be part of a bigger picture and hopefully attract visitors from other countries. This year we have seen more visitors from China, USA and Asia.
them only see customers and staff as numbers. At Hogarth’s our people are the hotel and the ideas and passion they bring, allows us to stay ahead. My team are an army of eye’s and ears, they are constantly visiting other hotels and restaurants to see what they do and use our own ideas and make them better. We believe that this award will show that you can take a small hotel that was virtually unknown and make it so much viable to bigger business and clients while attracting the new generation of hospitality providers into the industry.
Being a single hotel operator, we are always up against the bigger players with a group backing. We set out last year to create a group from a single hotel, where we did not have a large marketing budget and most of what we did was done by the Hotels GM. This year the success of what we created last year has allowed us to add our second hotel, and now people feel we are larger than just two hotels, this is a good vibe, as our name is now well known.

”
We feel that to keep up to date in our industry, HR is key . The people we employ at Hogarth’s have to be able to do one thing, and that is to deliver genuine hospitality and be themselves. We never go out to find the best of the best from other hotels. We have grown them in house, we train and develop our people and they buy into what hospitality is all about: looking after people. Our competitors don’t do this, and a lot of

Company: Nude Coffee Roasters LTD Name: Richard Reed Email: rich@nudeespresso.com Web Address: www.nudeespresso.com Address: 25 Hanbury Street London, E1 6QR Telephone: 07804223590
Best Micro-Roastery – UK
Nude Espresso was set up in 2008 to supply and help develop a specialty coffee market that was underdeveloped compared to the likes found in New Zealand and Australia. The business aim was always to roast coffee for other cafes, businesses and the retail market, but first the market had to be created before it could be supplied. Nude was founded on quality, ethics driven trade relationships, a positive work environment and better-than-fair-trade coffee pricing. Six months after the café’s inception, Richard Reed, one of the co-owners, started roasting coffee after-hours at the café on a 5kg Turkish Roaster and so Nude Coffee Roasters was born. We spoke to them to find out more about this ever-expanding business.
After a year and a half of roasting in the café, we (Rich and Gerard) began to train and develop a team of likeminded enthusiasts so that we could further supply London’s burgeoning specialty coffee market. Over the past 3 – 4 years, the market has grown considerably, as has Nude Coffee Roasters. The Coffee Roaster we use has been changed twice, as has the roastery site, to cater for the growing demand for great coffee. We are now proud to be roasting on a 35kg American produced air roaster, that helps us craft some of the cleanest and tastiest coffee possible as well as producing approximately 80% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional drum roasters, keeping our roastery not only ethical but environmentally friendly
policy has kept us approachable as a company and better able to build our supply chains and help our customers. There is never a bad time for someone in the company to talk through any issues a customer or supplier has and it is this continuing policy of openness that is something we will never lose as a company and will always contribute to our success. To stay ahead of the many developments and changes in our industry, we find that training and staff development are key. When any new breakthroughs in the industry appear we ensure we learn from them and
We cater to high quality cafes, restaurants and the public as well as small businesses looking to give their staff some of the best coffee money can buy. Nude Coffee Roasters not only roasts coffee but we also own cafes and offer training and wholesale support, taking people from the basic coffee production all the way to advanced coffee preparation and analysis. Once a month we host free tasting events so that members of the public can meet us in a casual environment and chat, taste and learn about our newest coffees and the farms we’re working with. In terms of our business philosophy, building a good working relationship with customers and suppliers has been vitally important to procuring the best produce and offering it at the best price along with the best service and training possible. Keeping an open door

assess whether it is useful for us as a business. Not all new findings are necessarily useful or feasible to recreate in a café or business environment, so everything has to have a trade off with whether or not implementation would have a detrimental affect on our ability to provide top quality customer service. Developing our trade relationships with coffee farmers is the next step for Nude Coffee Roasters as we know it’s the best way of ensuring exceptional coffee quality year on year and paying the farmers the best price we can.

Best for Software Development Testing & Best Development Testing Platform 2015
Parasoft Parasoft researches and develops software solutions that help organizations deliver defect-free software efficiently. By integrating development testing, API testing, and service virtualization, we reduce the time, effort, and cost of delivering secure, reliable, and compliant software.
Parasoft’s enterprise and embedded development solutions are the industry’s most comprehensive including static analysis, unit testing, requirements traceability, coverage analysis, functional and load testing, dev/test environment management, and more. The majority of Fortune 500 companies rely on Parasoft in order to produce top-quality software consistently and efficiently as they pursue agile, lean, DevOps, compliance, and safety-critical development initiatives. Understanding our customers’ business objectives is the single most vital area of focus when it comes to providing the best possible service or products. Parasoft takes great pride in our R&D efforts, but if those efforts are not validated by our clients’ primary concerns, then we would be in the precarious position of evangelizing prescriptive technologies versus addressing true business challenges. What sets Parasoft apart from our competition is focus. We have always asked ourselves a single question from which all of our products have been developed: how can we truly ‘prevent’ a software defect from entering an application? This seems like a very simple, innocuous question, however it has allowed us to pioneer nine separate products.
the realization that faulty software not only hits the bottom line but can also have a severe impact in shareholder value. Ultimately, we have to remember that software is the vehicle for businesses to deliver a differentiable competitive advantage. By understanding our clients’ core business challenges, we are best prepared to deliver solutions that resonate with our users. It is terrific that Parasoft has been recognized by Corporate Vision for development testing. For over 28 years, Parasoft has been evolving techniques designed to automatically prevent software defects and reduce the risk of application failures. Parasoft owes this success to two primary drivers. First, Parasoft’s Co-Founder, Adam Kolawa, who always believed that there had to be a better more automated way to deliver defect free software. Second, to the creativity of our Parasoft team. Parasoft holds creativity as our most valuable cultural resource.
There are two primary trends that are becoming increasingly prevalent in software development. First, getting to market fast with differentiable software is considered a business imperative. Second is

It’s due to this successful work environment that we have a very high staff retention, allowing the invested skills and knowledge to be retained, which in turn provides a positive impact on the services provided to our clients.” It is Tecman’s engineering knowledge and creativity that really differentiates them from the competition. It enables them to work alongside engineers and design
teams to develop industry specific solutions and provide additional product offerings and added value. Tecman’s objective for every project or application is to maximise efficiency and minimise overall cost for their clients. This is achieved by working in close collaboration with the client and gaining deep insight into the application and what it needs to achieve. Tecman carefully consider all aspects of the application and focus on improving overall performance and efficiency. They then develop intelligent solutions that match products to needs and enhance the final product by adding considerable value. “With the need for lighter more efficient designs within electronics, automotive and many other industries, weight reduction is currently the most prevalent trend, which is why adhesive tape is now the preferred method for bonding and sealing over traditional fixing methods. There is also a lot of focus and development on adhesive tapes that form a structural bond rather than just a fix. “Looking ahead, industry developments show a strong focus on emission controls, bringing lightweight technologies across multiple industries. This opens up opportunities for the introduction of adhesive tape technologies and exciting new prospects for Tecman to develop lighter, more economic bonding and sealing solutions.”
