Rollins, Inc. Completes Acquisition of Marietta-Based Northwest Exterminating Rollins, Inc. announced on August 1st that it has completed its acquisition of Northwest Exterminating Co., Inc.’s pest control business.

The result is a satin finish that may be left as it is or painted over, for additional environmental protection or appearance.

New High-Bandwidth and Necessity in Remote Areas Lengthy contracts and ongoing political tensions worldwide will ensure continued US government and military spend, finds Frost & Sullivan’s digital transformation team.

The global satellite transponder market is experiencing modest but steady growth. An increase in adoption in remote regions, need for back-up and emergency technology, new high bandwidth and advancements in areas like in-flight communications, maritime communications, as well as certain military applications, are factors propelling growth. To succeed in a mature and competitive ecosystem, players must harness opportunities in high-growth regions and solve complex integration challenges.

Frost & Sullivan recent analysis, Global Satellite Transponder Market, forecast to 2023, reveals the market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.9 % from 2016 to 2023. Even with a low growth rate, the market will account for $2.71 billion more in 2023 than in 2016, therefore causing market competition to remain strong.

“Most growth in the satellite transponder market is expected to come from new high-bandwidth, Ka-Band and Ku-Band transponder/bandwidth leasing,” says Frost & Sullivan satellite communications industry

analyst Peter Finalle. “Ka-Band satellite technology offers premium performance and a higher quality of service than terrestrial networks.

From a regional perspective: • China, India and much of Latin America (LATAM) will continue driving satellite transponder leasing adoption rates due to booming economies and need for additional network connectivity; • Africa and most of Asia-Pacific (APAC) do not have robust landline or cellular coverage and would benefit from large-scale satellite adoption for use as cellular backhaul or to connect schools, hospitals, emergency response teams and local government agencies and; • Growth of satellite backhaul remains low in Europe, North America and the Middle East because of existing network infrastructures in populated locations. North America and Europe have substantial cellular coverage, with most countries in

Panasonic North America and Intel CEOs to Keynote at LA Auto Show’s AutoMobility LA™ AutoMobility LA™, the first true trade show for the new transportation sector, on August 3rd announced that Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel, and Tom Gebhardt, CEO of Panasonic Corporation of North America, will be keynotes at the 2017 event, taking place Nov. 27 – 30.

AbbVie Receives U.S. FDA Approval of ™ MAVYRET AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company, on August 3rd announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved MAVYRET™ (glecaprevir/pibrentasvir), a once-daily, ribavirin-free treatment for adults with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection across all major genotypes (GT1-6).

MAVYRET is an eight-week, pangenotypic treatment for patients without cirrhosis and who are new to treatment. Up to 95% of HCV patients in the U.S. may be eligible for treatment with MAVYRET, including patients with compensated cirrhosis or without cirrhosis and those with limited treatment options, such as patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). * “With MAVYRET, physicians and patients now have a treatment option that is highly effective and has the potential to cure most HCV patients in as short as eight weeks, regardless of genotype,” said Michael Severino, M.D., executive vice president, research and development and chief scientific officer, AbbVie. “The approval of MAVYRET demonstrates AbbVie’s commitment to advancing science to help address unmet needs by delivering a new cure for patients who historically had limited treatment options, including those with genotype 3 HCV, individuals with CKD and certain DAA failure patients.”

What should people tell a doctor before taking MAVYRET?

If they have ever had hepatitis B virus infection, liver problems other than hep C infection, or any other medical conditions.

If they are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if they are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if MAVYRET will harm a person’s unborn baby or pass into breast milk. A doctor should be consulted about the best way to feed a baby if taking MAVYRET. About all the medicines they take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. MAVYRET and other medicines may affect each other. This can cause people to have too much or not enough MAVYRET or other medicines in their body. This may affect the way MAVYRET or other medicines work, or may cause side effects.

A new medicine must not be started without telling a doctor.

A doctor will provide instruction on whether it is safe to take MAVYRET with other medicines.

What are the common side effects of MAVYRET? The most common side effects of MAVYRET are headache and tiredness. These are not all the possible side effects of MAVYRET. A doctor should be notified if there is any side effect that is bothersome or that does not go away. This is the most important information to know about MAVYRET. Plans for Major Makeover of Geneva Commons’ Central Courtyard Area The central common area of Geneva Commons in City of Geneva (Illinois), is about to undergo a significant renovation that will offer upgraded amenities for visitors to the outdoor lifestyle shopping center.

The central common area of Geneva Commons will be transformed into a park-like gathering green with comfortable seating, pergola, fireplace, sculptures and a life-size chessboard. According to Cathy Charhut, property manager for Geneva Commons, construction will begin in late August. The 10-12-week project is expected to be complete in time for the holiday shopping season.

“Our goal is to provide an inviting area where friends can meet up, restaurant goers can relax after dinner, or visitors can overall enjoy an enhanced shopping experience,” she says.

The architectural firm of Kimley Horn has been retained to design the project, with Mid-America Asset Management overseeing the construction.

Other enhancements to Geneva Commons include two new stores coming soon. According to Charhut, leases were recently signed with MAC Cosmetics and PANDORA Jewelry, both planning to open before the 2017 holiday shopping season.

Geneva Commons is located on Randall Road at Williamsburg Avenue in Geneva, Illinois.

Ms. Charhut says that the project will also potentially allow for additional activities, such as bag tournaments, outdoor fitness classes and movies on the lawn which will be projected on the new digital screen already installed, as well as enhanced holiday décor and more.
