About two weeks ago a seabird ‌ (able to speak to you and introduce itself in this address)

http://www.voki.com/pickup.php?scid=8053886&height=267&width=200 Once upon a time a seabird ,called Grypas, started a big trip. Grypas departed from the small island of Dia, which is located in the northern part of Crete, the biggest island of Greece and the southern frontier of Europe.

Grypas wanted to to stop for a while on the roof of the famous Castle “ Koules. Koules is located on the harbor of Heraklion, in front of the city.

By mistake ,Grypas entered in the Castle through a gun slit.

The seabird wandered in the stone corridors.

The seabird was tired by the voyage and sat down to rest. Grypas felt that was sitting on a strange object. The seabird discovered that was sitting in the Disc of Festos.

The object broke and Grypas realized it was fake. Yet , in it ,there was a map and a note. The note guided the seabird to go to the Archeological Museum of Heraklion. http://odysseus.culture.gr/h/4/eh41.jsp?obj_id=7844

In the Museum the seabird met students from Heraklion. They were sitting around the “ Disc of Festos “ and the were designing copies of it. The students asked him to transport the Disc for an exhibition in Thessaloniki. They were anxious to share knowledge with their friends from the 1 st School of Triandria.

These are the manuscripts of our story Our seabird is called Grypas. He’s named after a mythical creature. Our creature had an eagle head ,a lion body and a serpent tail. Its head symbolized the creature’s domination on air , its body on earth and its tail under it.

Grypas explains: “I was painted by minoan painters on the left and the right side of King Minoas throne in the palace of Knosos. Traces of my civilization ,the Minoan Civilization, can be seen especially in the palaces of Knosos Festos ,Malia, Zakros and else where.

Grypas is saying: “ I want to go from the small island of Dia to Heraklion. I will try entering from here. What is this place? It’s a Castle. Oh ! I entered by mistake through a gun slit. I must see these stone corridors. They are beautiful.

Oh! I feel tired after such a long journey. I need t rest for a while. Where am I sitting on? What is this? The ‘Disc of Festos”? This shouldn’t be here.

Hoops! It’s breaking. For this Disc we have lessons in school. What’s in it? There’s a map and a note. We are tought that the Disc was found in the “Festos Palace” .It’s one of the first printed texts in human history.

The map is showing me the way to the Archeological Museum Of Heraklion . There’s also a task in the note: “Find the real Disc in the Museum”. I am flying towards the Museum. I am looking at it. I am entering There’s the Disc !What are all these students doing around it? They are painting copies of it.

“Why are you around the Disc? Oh ! you are painting it ? So , you want to send it to Thessaloniki”. “Do you ,really, want me to take it there? What a nice flight! I fly over the blue of the Aegean Sea, The historic city of Athens. I mustn’t be late. There’s the beautiful harbor of Volos”.

Blue , again ! The “ White Tower , the White Tower. My friends from Triandria , I am coming!
