More About BAA
By Amni Amanina (BAA) produces quality Muslimah wears like shawl and niqab. They are not only following shari'ah but also pretty and fashionable. But most importantly, all of the products are handmade with love by the founder herself, Puteri Amni - the nickname she calls herself with. The business is multi-level but they're only accepting dropship. Amni uses Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, Telegram, and Tik Tok as the platforms for her business. Unfortunately, they're only operating online for now.
"What inspires you?" What inspires you to start this business?
I have always been interested in hijab fashion for a very long time since I was a fashion design student. I started this business with my passion in fashion. Another reason is that there are not many fashion that is designated for muslim women who prefer long style hijab or niqab which inspires me to start this business to provide for those who wanted to follow their belief and still be fashionable. When did the business first establish?
Both brands were established in year 2020. How long does it take to have the first sales since the business started?
At first, there were really no sales because nobody knew about the brand itself but after a month, I got my first sales. For Amanina Publication, in 15 days and so on, we managed to receive 350 orders of novels since the first opening and in a month, we managed to get 1000 copies of novels published.

Written from her own experience, this novel has started its first chapter when she was 17. At that young age, she has become mature from experiences that taught her about life and pain from within. Filled with her inspiring quotes and engaging journey, this novel is a gift for her fan and the public.

Losing money is better than losing my customers' trust
Q&A Interesting thoughts from Amni Amanina about her challenges and accomplishment What are the most important characteristics a person needs to be an entrepreneur?
What was the most challenging part of the business?
The most challenging part is searching for quality fabrics which are quite limited as I have to go and check the fabrics myself to ensure they are really of excellent quality. Sometimes, I get deceived by the supplier where I already go and check the fabrics' texture to my liking, yet a different one was sent to me. Then I just have to pray a lot so that everything is going smoothly. For the novel, Alhamdulillah, as of now there aren't any problems. What are the risks and rewards of being an entrepreneur? How does it affect you as a person?
There are a lot of risks when we choose to become an entrepreneur. Sometimes the unthinkable can happen. For example, breach of trust, getting undesired raw materials, and more. As an entrepreneur, we have to be ready to face the risks. However, there are also numerous rewards for being an entrepreneur. For instance, I can always be alongside my family, unlimited pay where I can even get more than expected, meeting new entrepreneur friends who can give a positive impact, and a lot more. It’s normal to get into entrepreneurship and make ourselves grow maturely to face obstacles and challenges in the future. What did you do to face those challenges and solve the issues like the breach of trust and problems regarding the raw materials?
If there is a breach of trust, I will immediately replace the person with a former and better staff since there’s no time to appoint a new person. For the problems with raw material, I will try my best to get a new one to protect my customers’ trust who have been waiting for our products. Losing money is better than failing my customers' trust.
In my opinion, being enthusiastic about putting better effort is really important as an entrepreneur since there’s a lot of hurdles to climb and challenges to face. So, an entrepreneur has to work hard and increase their effort. In addition, the attitude of not giving up easily is also essential to be a successful entrepreneur. As I said earlier, in business there will definitely be many challenges and obstacles. If we easily call it a quit, the business will just cease to end. Lastly, have leadership qualities. I like the quote "Be a leader not a boss". When we are the leaders in business, the people working together with us will also feel happiness and satisfaction in their work. On the other hand, being bossy might make them unhappy and insincere to work with us. What is your proudest accomplishment with your business?
So far, my proudest achievement is when I managed to buy my own car. Plus, I am able to buy what my parents wanted and help lighten their burden. What I’m most happy about is when I got invited to schools and educational institutes to talk about my own novel, “Selotip Hati”. Any advice to people who aspire entrepreneur, especially the young ones?

My advice to those who aspire to be an entrepreneur, especially the young, is to set the right mind and intent on their purpose of being an entrepreneur. Is it to help and benefit the customers or simply just to make money. To add, the beginning is always the hardest. Therefore, don’t give up and despair. Keep going and recall your real intent in starting a business to continue to be motivated without giving up.
