The Rainbow Fix-It Man
Once upon a time there lived a man on the rainbow. He was the Rainbow Fix-It Man.

Look. That’s his Magic Brush. Every year on this day, the Rainbow Fix-It Man took out the Magic Brush and started his work. It was not an easy job, and it
took him almost the entire day to figure out where to get all the colors.

“First thing first. Where can I get the color
RED?”
He got his Magic Brush in his hands. He peeked into his Magic Brush whose one end was a telescope,
and it detected any possible place on Earth for the first color he needed.

He looked and looked very carefully. “A-ha, I knew it!” He saw the reddish blush on the cheeks of every child playing happily in the fields and on the plains.
Bravo! That was exactly the REDNESS for the rainbow! He pushed a button, and ZOOM!!! RED was gathered
at the other end of his Magic Brush.

The Rainbow Fix-It Man kept looking. Before long he
found the orange color. “See the glittering desert with a golden sun-set!” The Rainbow Fix-It Man was
pleased.

“Wait a second. How about pumpkin patches?”
The Rainbow Fix-It Man snapped his fingers and said it out loud, “As easy as a pumpkin pie!” He was very pleased with the

ORANGE.

“Yikes! It’s not very easy to find the color
YELLOW…
Let me look other ways,” the Rainbow Fix-It Man
frowned and turned his Magic Brush.

A few hours later, he beamed. How couldn’t he have thought about those yellow winged caciques!? They were perfect YELLOW.

Now what? The Rainbow Fix-It Man was very picky about the color
GREEN.
Kiwi green? No.
Cucumber green? Not quite right. St. Patrick’s green? Hmmm. No.

“Aha! I found it.“ How greenishly amazing! How greenishly everlasting!

“Where can I find the
BLUE?” He talked to himself.
No time to lose. He adjusted his Magic Brush. The Rainbow Fix-It Man once again looked into his Magic Brush. There. Unbelievable! The iceberg blue seemed to have power to enchant. One button, and the BLUE was gathered, and it snuggled with the GREEN.

“Last time I had trouble finding this color. Now it’s getting tougher,” the Rainbow Fix-It Man talked to himself. The-grapes-and-blueberries-indigo, or the-deep-blue-of-dark-denim-blue-jeans indigo?
The Rainbow Fix-It-Man hesitated. He couldn’t decide. A few more hours passed.

“Eureka!” The Rainbow Fix-It Man pushed the button. And he made the Oceania INDIGO revive onto the Rainbow.

The Rainbow Fix-It Man was very tired, but he still had one more color to find. He looked and looked,
but he almost closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Suddenly, a slight breeze of purplish aroma brushed
his ears, like an angel whispering to him. The Rainbow Fix-It Man opened his eyes. A field of lavenders were swaying and swinging. A field of tulips were nodding and waving. “Hooray! I found the

PURPLE!”

The Rainbow Fix-It Man had done his job beautifully. He was very, very, very tired, but that was all right. He had quite a long time to rest before the Rainbow
needed the fix again.
