Toshiba, a global leader in high efficiency, high performance air conditioning for commercial and domestic buildings, has announced SEIYA, its new generation air conditioning system for residential climate control applications. SEIYA, which means ‚silent night’ in Japanese, benefits from an innovative new inverter and compressor technology developed by TOSHIBA. It is designed to deliver high performance at an attractive price point, making everyday comfort a reality for all. Minimising vibration and noise, SEIYA offers energy efficient A++ cooling and A+ heating performance, with R32 refrigerants resulting in low global warming potential. From size 7 to size 16, all indoor units can also be combined with multi outdoor units.

Innovative inverter technology

Innovative rotary compressor technology created by Toshiba combines exemplary performance with outstanding reliability. Minimising fluctuations to ensure a constant temperature, this technology increases efficiency while reducing the risk of incidental noise. TOSHIBA’s inverter technology allows SEIYA to regulate heating and cooling capacity at all times by adjusting compressor speed to demand.

Quiet comfort

To reduce noise and improve comfort, SEIYA’s ‘Silent‘ function halves the sound level of the outdoor unit (reducing its sound level by 3dBA, down to 43dBA). This avoids disturbing neighbours, while the product’s ‘Quiet’ function reduces noise from the indoor unit by reducing fan speed to help ensure residents enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Smart AC

At home, the unit can be controlled via its infrared remote control – but it can also be controlled via an intuitive app from your smartphone or tablet. The Toshiba Home AC Control smart app allows you to take complete control and help manage energy consumption, at home and on the move. This means you can customise your comfort, finding the perfect cooling or heating level for your family at any time, no matter where you are. It gives easy access to air conditioning system controls whilst on the move. An ideal temperature can be enjoyed by simply using the app to check status, before adjusting settings to suit your comfort, from wherever you are.

Self-cleaning

SEIYA is equipped with ‘Magic Coil’, which helps prevent water and dust from sticking to the coil, providing healthy, fresh air for longer. When the air conditioning is switched off to drain a contaminated coil, the fan continues to operate to keep the coil clean and dry, and to maintain the system’s high energy efficiency.

In addition, TOSHIBA’s unique ‘On-demand Defrosting’ function ensures the unit can be used in even the most extreme winter conditions, clearing ice at the touch of the remote-control button.
