This is our motto for year 2013! Clarity and freshness in connection with perfect forms and an absolute well-being inspired us to the subject, which reflects once more that airconditioning systems play a huge role in the matter of well-being.

he pictures to the image series 2013 were made on a very unfriendly, cold Saturday in February. Accordingly it was quite demanding for the model and the photographer to get in a well-being mood.

The setting shows the current elements in our branch like air, freshness, pureness, clarity and of course beauty, elegance and the clear forms, which make an awareness of life out of the “product air-conditioner” in the end. While huge ventilators blew 50 meters of white silk into position, photographer Christian Jungwirth captured the most expressive and most emotional scenes with his Olympus. “Everything looks very easily, but behind the few pictures which made it finally onto the shortlist is a lot of patience and work”, Marketing-Lady Dagmar Unterrainer only knows too well. However the positive feedback when the subject was presented at the Kick-Off event justifies the efforts and motivates us to try out and implement new creative ideas.

Currently our cover girl smiles from several front pages, advertisements and billboards and adorns also some AirCond sales materials. For all who want to be seduced at least “optically” – we still have posters in format A1, which are available free of charge.

Editorial THE POKER WITH THE SUN Even if the air conditioning sector has developed from a once seasonal to a now full-year business, one can’t abandon the sales-promotional influence of constant sunny days. Air-conditioners simply sell better, if the weather is hot and muggy. At the latest when the performance curve of the employees fall or the so important recreative sleep is not possible anymore, directors or person of independent means then gladly use air-conditioning systems. A point for us, as together with you we can deliver promptly, can provide qualitative installations and can enable a sense of well-being at the push of a button. We know indeed that we can‘t count on our sun only, which motivated us to prepare extensively for the new season. One is allowed to have wishes, to take care of them and to hope, that they come true soon.

WHAT ABOUT BUSINESS WITHOUT MEETINGS?

E

xchanging information and risking a practical view to the second half of the year – so happened during the Toshiba meetings last week. Whilst the ladies were negotiating mercantile issues, the technicians kept close to their “machines”. We are happy again and again to welcome Toshiba in our office, especially when the meetings are so constructive.

NEW TRAINING CONCEPT IN E2 DELIGHTS!

he training initiative running since January 2013 has been very popular due to a perfect combination of a workshop structured in modules as well as the unique setting of the Energiesparhaus 2.

When we talk about “workshops”, we mean real workshops. Gone are the presentations and traditional classroom teaching style. It was mainly Markus Pichler who implemented successfully the whole new direction. “It must not be the aim to transfer as much knowledge as possible in such a tight timeframe!”, chief technical engineer Markus Pichler is certain about.“

FIRST PRODUCTION IN THE NEW FACTORY

I

n the price list 2013 no filters for RAS models are listed. The reason for this is a reorganization of Toshiba which unfortunately couldn’t be finished before the printing deadline of the price list. There are of course still replacement filters for RAS units available – please note our newsletter to this dated 26th April 2013 or ask our sales department!

Training focus: to work out proposals for solution by oneself!

A

t last the addition to the Thai factory of ToshibaCarrier started officially its operations almost one year after the ground-breaking ceremony. With this addition the premises have grown to an area of about 30.500 m² and thereby almost doubled. This provides enough space not only for the production of units out of the Residential segment but also for the product families Light Commercial and Commercial. The factory in Pathumthani, which was the first TOSHIBA AIRCONDITION factory outside Japan, was established 24 years ago and nowadays exports its products in 121 countries.

AvAnt series 5 – Toshiba‘s new entry-tier inverter is available from now on!

T

o the steadily growing demand for a reasonable entry-tier inverter Toshiba now has the answer with its new AvAnt series 5. Produced in Thailand the series provides well-known quality at prices convincing men and women.

TOSHIBA attached particular importance to energy efficiency and a low power operation also with the inverter entry-tier models. All sizes use approved twin-rotary compressors in connection with DC motors and thus guarantee low power consumption and an increased efficiency. Pleasant climate at home and in the office

AvAnt series 5 – AVAILABLE FROM NOW ON Toshiba’s AvAnt units are designed modernly and are suited for a broad installation portfolio of a cooling and heating load between 2 and 5 kW. One can hardly hear the climate comfort, the temperature fluctuations have been reduced almost to zero, and nevertheless the full cooling and heating comfort is noticeable at the push of a button. We are convinced that the AvAnt is a successful product for people, who want to buy quality at a very attractive price.

ince Ms. Fuchs gave birth to her charming daughter Natalie in January 2012, a lot has happened then in terms of “reproduction”.

Ms. Schmied gave birth to a healthy boy and Ms. Fuchs gave birth to her second daughter in the meantime. Ms. Bianca Jeller – formerly Straub – is also expecting her first child in September and will be going on maternity leave soon. Not only the Air-Cond ladies are productive, but also family Rumpl and Pippenbach need to store up with Pampers – both colleagues are expecting baby boys, one in June and one in August. If this trend were to persist, a small company kindergarten may quite prove useful.

ust in time our new colleague made it in the current issue. Lisa Gaßner supports the import department and together with Cornelia Hahn they will take care of a punctual arrival of all units in our stock in Vienna.

BUSINESS run 2013

U

nder bright sunshine and summer temperatures almost 4.800 runners sweated at the WOCHE business marathon at the Schwarzl- Freizeitzentrum.

Team Air-Cond participated with 12 runners under the motto “Running Innovation”! Athletes from a total of 22 nations joined this run event, which took place already for the 13th time. Air-Cond placed an 8-man-team, in which each member coped a distance of 5,275 km, as well as a 4-man-team with a distance of 10,55 km each. Every runner successfully reached the goal and mobilized the last forces for the aftershow party!

And again we are in the middle of June, and again the full air condition industry is putting their heads together and looking for solutions how to compensate every week the missing high-temperature caused ad-hoc sails in this season again. It should be easier because the AC industry should be used to handle such situation after a few similar years. Nevertheless at the beginning of the year all ears are listening very carefully especially these weather experts predicting hot summer or even better a hot spring with optimism. But, if the hot spring is not appearing as expected and we are still suffering with critical economic situation – up to the market with more or less negative economic figures – we can always observe similar effects of common economic depression: The in January agreed turnover forecasts need to be changed downwards, the stocks of distributors are marked as “commercial critical”, any placed orders at factories are cancelled etc. These processes need to be done by the responsible people in the companies, which are their tasks finally, the ambience conditions are the same for all and in the end the one who handles the situation best is successful. But on the other hand with the psychological effect we recognize similar effects as well, unfortunately. The products get blamed, the one or another issue will always be in the lineup, but we are still working with a top brand, a top product which has one of the best qualities in the market, with technological advantages, and the problem-free use is the best solution for the installer as well as for the end user. Further the distributor gets blamed, because he is not the “right” prices in the market. Advantages as a full stock with prompt availability, an “easy-doing-business” and a team permanently improving and growing are obviously forgotten quickly. I´m not sure, if products which fills the supposed product gaps and prices decreased by 2 digits percent will cause the expected sales figures. Some product segments are depending on the weather for the big sales, other segments are depending on constriction business and on the economic situation of the country. We will do our homework, the necessary fine adjustments to be successful, will update the factories permanently with information, facts and demands of the markets. So we all together have the chance to be successful even though the ambience conditions are not the best. But, if we see the pictures last weeks with flood in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia etc. the moaning of the AC industry about the weather should be relativized. The nature is not predictable, and will never be.

he wedding bells sounded this time four our Technical Supervisor Christian Rumpl, who married his long-time girlfriend Christina on 24th May. Everything has been well planned, as they are expecting baby number one – a boy –already in August. Dear Christian, we wish you ALL THE BEST!!!!

When establishing the business park with around 4.600 m2 for sales floors, offices and storage space it was crucial for the ROTH Baumangement GmbH on behalf of the ROTH Privatstiftung to ensure the following: creating a sustainable building where people feel comfortable and keep healthy. Concerning the air conditioning the air to air heat pump system won against a cold water system.

n the warmer months the room temperature plays a significant role in terms of well-being, after which the management decided on a continuous air conditioning of retail and office space. When evaluating the costs and efficiency, the Toshiba VRF system was the clear winner. Company Pammer GmbH took care for the whole project carried out with direct evaporation, from planning, installation, start-up to maintenance. Everything was delivered from a single source. The system was split into four refrigeration circuits, the total cooling capacity is about 168 kW. For an optimized indoor climate there were installed cassette models as they could be installed perfectly in the ceiling. About 650 m pipes found their place in the inserted ceiling, outdoor units are placed on the roof.
