Welcome to Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK), a vibrant and caring co-educational day school for students from Reception (K2) to Year 12. Founded in 1995, AISHK offers a high-quality, balanced education rooted in Australian values and a strong intercultural understanding.
We are the only school in Hong Kong to offer the Australian curriculum, with the option for students in their final two years to study either the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). Our graduating students consistently achieve outstanding results and seamlessly transition to tertiary studies worldwide.
AISHK fosters a sense of belonging, positive relationships, and a collaborative community. Our dedicated staff ensure that every
In Primary, teachers adopt a variety of approaches and strategies, depending on the subject area and each individual student’s learning style which differentiate both by task and outcome.
As children progress through the Primary years, a greater emphasis is placed on student self-discipline and organisation. Students are given ample opportunity to organise and represent their work in a variety of ways and to display higher levels of understanding. There are also opportunities for leadership skill development. At all stages, inquiry, critical thinking and independent learning are nurtured within a safe and structured, yet flexible, environment.
The Primary curriculum is complemented by a diversity of events and activities to develop the whole student, enhancing their skills and showcasing their passion for sports, performing arts, public speaking, camps and outdoor experiences.

AISHK offers an exceptional secondary education for students through a unique curriculum model, designed for diversity of choice and specialisation through course electives. AISHK is the only school in Hong Kong to offer students the flexibility to undertake either the Australian New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP).
By providing these alternative pathways, one distinctly Australian and the other an international education, students benefit significantly by having choice. We create seamless pathways for students’ tertiary pursuits, career aspirations and unlimited opportunities - whether in Hong Kong, Australia or around the globe.
For many students, Secondary may be their most formative years, academically, socially and emotionally. Since the average class size in Secondary is 15 students, our students benefit greatly from individualised focus and added support from our dedicated teachers. As a result, Secondary at AISHK is a close-knit, nurturing and positive learning community.
