Key Lime Pie

with a crisp Biscuit Under Crust Ingredients 1 1/2 cups graham-cracker crumbs. ... 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled. 5 tablespoons sugar. 1/2 cup freshly squeezed key-lime juice. 1 tablespoon grated Key lime zest, plus more for garnish. 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled. 1 can (14 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk. 4 large egg yolks.

Preparation: Servings 5/Prep time: 40mins

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2. Combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk and lime juice. Mix well. Pour into unbaked graham cracker shell. 3, Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Top with whipped topping and garnish with lime slices if desired. 4. Serve on a white plate and eat as soon as possible

Lime, cream and a buttery biscuit base - this zesty oven-baked treat makes a refreshing and indulgent end to a meal Why make this dish? Key lime pie is an American dessert made of Key lime juice, egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk in a pie crust. The traditional Conch version uses the egg whites to make a meringue topping. The dish is named after the small Key limes (Citrus aurantifolia ‘Swingle’) that are naturalized throughout the Florida Keys. While their thorns make them less tractable, and their thin, yellow rinds more perishable, Key limes are more tart and more aromatic

than the common Persian limes seen year-round at grocery stores in the United States. Key lime juice, unlike regular lime juice, is a pale yellow. The filling in Key lime pie is also yellow, largely because of the egg yolks. During mixing, a reaction between the condensed milk and the acidic lime juice occurs that causes the filling to thicken on its own without requiring baking. Many

early recipes for Key lime pie did not require baking the pie, relying on this chemical reaction (called thickening) to produce the proper consistency of the filling. Today, because consuming raw eggs can be dangerous, pies of this nature are usually baked for a short time. The baking also thickens the texture more than the reaction alone.

Eat,Healthily,Yum! PALEO FRIENDLY!

Cabbage Wraps 12-14 savoy cabbage leaves 1/2 lb. ground turkey 1 C water chestnuts, chopped 1/2 c green onion, thinly sliced 1 C shredded carrots 1 T olive oil, for brushing I have been enjoying Golumpki–a traditional Polish recipe for stuffed cabbage–for many years, courtesy of my boyfriend’s mother. She makes large batches of them and shares them with us. They are also a mainstay during the holiday season. They are stuffed with rice, meat, and sometimes vegetables. Since cabbage is so versatile, I thought, why not make an Asianinspired Paleo version? Cabbage is the perfect vessel for stuffing full of chopped veggies and meat for a savory ovenbaked recipe. The leaves of this cruciferous vegetable tenderize yet stay strong enough to hold the ingredients inside. I like to leave the cabbage wraps in the oven until the top of the cabbage is a nice light brown color. You can get creative with your ingredients and use any Paleo vegetables you prefer. I have a love for water chestnuts and enjoy the crunch they add to recipes, so I had to make them a part of this dish. Bell pepper, bamboo shoots, and jalapeno would all be delicious as well.

Tofu Pad Thai Quinoa and sweet potato pattie 2 cups baked sweet potato, skins removed & mashed (approximately 2 medium sweet potatoes) 2 cups cooked quinoa medium yellow onion, diced 3 cloves of crushed garlic 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme (more to garnish) 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil These tasty little delights may look like they’d be a fair amount of work in the kitchen but I’m SO happy to tell you they’re insanely easy to whip up and the time they take to make really just lies in waiting for a sweet potato to bake and the quinoa to cook. They’re the kind of dish you serve your friends, impress your significant other with, and wish someone would make for you at a dinner party. All the while being so freaking healthy it’s silly. That’s right, these suckers are HEALTHY.

8 ounces dried wide, flat rice noodles. 1/4 cup fresh lime juice, plus lime wedges for serving (3 limes) 3 tablespoons soy sauce or fish sauce. 1 tablespoon chili sauce, such as Sriracha. 1 tablespoon packed darkbrown sugar. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 2 large eggs, lightly beaten Make this healthy version of the tasty Thai classic in less time than it takes to have it delivered. If you have fish sauce and aren’t a strict vegetarian, substitute it for the soy sauce. It will give the dish deeper flavor. If it needs tweaking. Added ginger, basil, peanut oil - but still kind of dry and bland. Think the tofu should be cooked in the sauce, which you need 2 to 3x as much and cook longer to reduce. No problems with the rice noodles after soaking. May want to brown the tofu in a flat pan then toss all in a wok to have less mess. First attempt - will try again with changes.

Weight-Loss

dreams How?

During my years as a college student, the flexible schedule allowed me to have an active lifestyle of working out between classes during the day and then waiting tables at night. I could enjoy going out to eat and eat the foods I loved, without being concerned about gaining weight. Soon the college life ended and the real world began. I traded in the restaurant apron for a computer and desk, causing my vigorous lifestyle to come to a screeching and sedentary halt. Soon after, I became a mom and went back to work. I quickly learned the work and home life balancing act on little to no sleep. The chaos of working motherhood only added to the unhealthy habits I acquired through my newly founded sedentary life

To: 145lbs From: 180lbs

To lose weight All she did was sleep I did not gain the weight overnight and I knew the weight would not disappear overnight. My weight loss plan needed to be a slow and steady process. I knew that my lifestyle change had to be a natural process that could fit into my schedule in order to be sustainable over time. I learned from past experiences that taking drastic measures or looking for quick fix gimmicks would only lead to failure in the long run. As a working mother and wife, embracing a healthy life style change was the most effective option that would lead to permanent weight loss.

I found these genuine concepts that have proven to be the foundation to my weight loss and healthy eating strategy.

unhealthy habits. Little by little, as the weight came off, it got easier and I realized losing weight is the easy part.

This is me at 145 pounds! Woot woot! Even though I still have about 20 pounds left to go to reach my goal weight I feel FABULOUS! No more hiding for this mama! Weight Maintenance At the start of my weight loss journey, losing 50-60 pounds seemed like such a mountain to climb. The first two weeks were the hardest because I had to work hard to break 12 years of

Maintaining this healthy lifestyle forever will be the challenge. Temptation is everywhere and, let’s be honest, it’s easier to be fat. A healthy lifestyle takes continuous effort, education and dedication. Once you make health a priority for you and your family, making healthy choices becomes much easier.

Ever wondered how to fashionably wear striped shoes? Louis Vuitton wasn’t the only one who went the geometric pattern route with its Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Marc Jacobs also took this route. Instead of checks and gingham pattern, however, the latter went for stripes. If you have been keeping close tabs on the hottest trends today, you probably already know how popular stripes pattern is today. This pattern has always been present in the fashion world, but thanks to designers like Marc Jacobs, its popularity has been magnified.

The One Handbag challenge isn’t all that difficult—the hardest part, really, is finding it. Five years ago I found mine, and I wrote about it here. And you know what happened next? I went and had a baby, and had to start the search all over again. Why? Because it was too small to carry all those little-person things we moms must lug around. At first I resisted, and simply didn’t bother to carry them. But after a few episodes of not having snacks, or a sippy cup, or an extra change of clothes at the playground—plus an unhappy child and plenty of parent-shaming gazes—I retired my beloved seatbelt bag (ie. gave it to a friend) in favor of something more child-friendly.

Floral prints mixed with other botanical motifs are to be deemed as the most common print type year in year out. This year is no different with oceans of flowers embracing nigh every fall 2016 collection. With Dolce & Gabbana, realistic floral fields are common to observe this time around also jibing with a fairy tale theme; at Blumarine and MSGM flowers keep on staying within vibrancy, but when we pass to Etro and Alberta Ferretti floral canvases instantly become muted and earthy-toned.

DIY WAIST TRAINER 3 easy ingredients!

Does it really work? YES Weight Watchers Magazine / Weightwatchers.com

Why it works? A Brief History of Waist Training

Benefits and misconceptons

Risks of Waist Training

Waist training — also known as waist cinching — became popular in the 1900s, first in Europe and then in America. This was spurred by the invention of the corset, which was replaced later by the girdle. In the early years of waistline modification, the corset was worn on the outside of the clothing and seen as a fashion statement. As the practice of waist cinching grew in popularity, women began to wear girdles and cinchers as undergarments, especially in the flapper era when women desired a boyish, youthful figure. Shapewear is still popular today, though often in the form of Spanx, which is much less constricting and used to slim the body while creating a smoother figure. The popularity of waist trainers is on the rise once again, and celebrities and models have recently admitted to using the garments.

Wearing waist-cinching garments may provide temporary physical benefits, such as a smaller waistline and an overall thinner appearance, and may also offer health benefits.

With benefits often come risks, and waist cinchers are no exception. Some of the most common problem are decreased abdominal muscle tone, visceral displacement and atrophy of the abdominal walls. Other health risks include deformation of the stomach, liver and lungs and decreased breathing capacity. Because of these risks, extended use of waist cinchers is not recommended.

Ingredients: 1. Plastic wrap 2. Sea Salt 3. Vitamin E oil

Wearing a corset or other compression garment for a long time could give the wearer the advantage of back support and posture control because of the binding and cinching effect. The boning, elastic or rubber material of the waist cincher also gives those who wear them added abdominal support, which can be helpful in reminding you to sit up straight throughout the day or not to overeat.

It’s important to note that waist training should be an addition to your healthy diet and consistent exercise regimen, not a substitute for one. Soto says that there is a science to modern waist training, and it’s one that’s similar to sauna suits, most often used by athletes to sweat out extra water weight.

About Summer is here and if you’re still struggling to get that beach bod (because, you know, pizza and Netflix), then we have a solution for you. Remember back in 2014 when waist training was all the rage? Well, we found a way to DIY your own waist trainer, since no one besides the Kardashians has $60 to spend on a corset. All you need is 3 ingredients! Follow these steps from Body Rock.

Directions: Start by massaging the vitamin E oil onto your stomach. When your “problem area” is fully covered, begin wrapping your stomach with the plastic wrap. Have someone help you make it tight so its effective! Wear the body wrap for as long as you want, the longer the better. When you take it off, you will be oily and gross–so go ahead and jump in the shower. Make sure to exfoliate your stomach using the sea salt to ensure those tight abs! After 2 weeks you’ll really start to see the improvement! Don’t believe us?! Check out the results here.

Excess

? skin?? F

irst, let me say that I understand how frustrating the loose skin problem is. It’s extremely discouraging to feel like you’re doing everything right without getting the results you really desire and so we will show you how to help. Some people might say to stop worrying about how you look and just be happy with what you’ve got, but I have a hard time with advice like that. Sure, some people develop unhealthy obsessions with looks and image, but there’s nothing wrong with wanting to have a lean, strong, healthy body that looks and feels great. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that everyone should have that experience. And so in this article, we’re going to take an in-depth look at the loose skin issue and see what can be done about it.

While there are legit cases of excess skin after weight loss, what many people think is loose or excess skin is actually just excess body fat, which is soft and jiggly and easily mistaken as skin. There’s an easy way to tell if you’re dealing with actual loose skin or too much body fat. Pinch the area you’re concerned with and if you can grab more than a few millimeters of skin, there’s more fat in there to lose. Until you lose that fat, your skin has no reason to return to its former size and tautness. Remember that skin isn’t a curtain of passive, inert flesh–it’s a living organ that adapts to its internal and external environments. As long as the fat it’s attached to remains, it will sag. rately assess the state of your skin.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

1

Stop smoking. As if there weren’t already enough reasons to stop smoking, here’s another: it ruins your skin. A study from researchers at the International Association of Ecologic Dermatology analyzed the skin of 64 female Italian smokers for the presence of lines, vascular and pigmentation state, elasticity, brightness, and texture. The initial assessment revealed that the average biological age of study participants was 9 years older

Real life stories:

Eat your fruits and vegetables. Your body needs a wide spectrum of vitamins and minerals to carry out the millions of biological processes that keep you alive and healthy, and eating several servings of fruits and vegetables every day is the only reliable way to provide everything your body needs.

Zoe Jones 20 Female:

In terms of skin specifically, research has shown that higher intakes of fruits and vegetables are associated with healthier, betterlooking skin. No pills or powders are going to give you a “quick fix” for your loose skin, but there are several supplements that may help. Let’s look at each.

I tried these steps and I can say my stomach has transformed a whol lot. I now only have a few exercises to do before I think I have toned up the whole area and lose the skin. Its nice and tight now and all I did was eat healthy, do exericse and love myself. I reccomend this to the highest degree.

Emma Mc Nalty 21 Female:

What is the least you can do? Well, the first thing you should know is that NO pill will cause you to magically lose weight. You have to regulate your caloric intake to lose weight (you have to feed your body less energy than it burns every day). If you do all these things and remain patient, there’s a very good chance you can dramatically reduce or even eliminate your loose skin problem without going under the knife.

I think with a little extra hard work youre able to reach your goal without too much skin excess. I managed to deal with mine through natural steps and I feel I look amazing. Not a day goes by now where I regret losng the weight I did. I have to thank these steps for making it happen. Please try them at least for a while. I would highly reccomend it.

Amy Boher 23 Female: After nights of frustration and tears I decided to step up my game and take on these steps. I ate healthy, exercised and took vitamins. I made sure and focused on my core which was the worst part of me. After losing 36lbs I was loose at the tummy, and no going under the knife was needed. I just stuck to my plan every day and it all went well enough.
