Graphic Design HND Year 2
My Personal Record I picked this article because it shows how Graphics can still be featured in Newspapers today. I like the graphic used. It’s a very beautiful. The pastels really work well with the newspaper aesthetic. I like how the image has a deep meaning behind it.

I liked the idea of taking historical art work of art and putting a modern graphic twist on it. Making the art pixelated seems simple but so effective as it makes you look at them in a more abstract modern way. The pixel art below is clever because the art is still recognisable even in the cubism state.

My Personal Record http://thebookdesignblog. com/book-design-inspiration/ illustrated-dracula-book
I picked this beatiful article about book covers, this book in particular struck my fancy because it was so detailed and detailed. Its Dracular illustrated. The graphic design on this impeccable.; Inspiring actually.
My Personal Record
I choose an article about a brand identity as it ties in with brand identity projects I had to do in my course. I like they used the diner tiles as inspiration and I saw that the brand logo is based on Art Deco which I have used in my own designs for my packaging project. I put the banner on top as its a nice design but also good motivation.

My Personal Record I find this type of thing very creative and fun, I like fun creative designs and craft like this. It’s a bit silly but it works because clowns are meant to be silly. This kind of database can be very useful if I ever decided I need a theme that uses clown imagry. Lets hope not though, clowns are so scary...

My Personal Record
I have a soft spot for street art such as graphics on walls, murals and grafitti can be really nice when its done in an artistic way. Sometimes the images here can be so creative that it could be used for so many things that need a soft grunge vibe like posters of bands or something modern and urban.
My Personal Record
I choose this blog because I am doing an art history project and this involves history of art inspired work which is perfect for ideas on how to tie in Graphic Design with the periods of time.

Here is an article on cool sugar design and more by Rubio & Dek Amo. I liked this geometrical like pattern on the sugar. It reminds me of famous graphic designers like Zuzana Licko. His designs are abstrict but modern and stylised. I like his vector logo work

I found a really cool design in a newspaper article online. The writing has a light bulb built into the text using negative space in a very clever way. The magazine has a very artsy vibe and I liked this article because it showed a whole bunch of traditional techniques for print as well as digital ones as I believe traditional graphic design is important to keep up to date with too.

My Personal Record
This article piqued my interest because it had menu designs which I didn’t think could be so beautiful. Menus are very fun because they are made to be visually pleasing and so the world is your oyster when designing one. The designs in this article are really beautiful and clever and my favourite is the Ragu Cafe one as its the most visually appealing using large imargy and dark colours with cool logo typography.

My Personal Record
I found a trend list of graphic designs. It’s very modern and it doesn’t have a lot of text talking about it, only a title and tagline, the rest is just images by year. I choose 2015 designs as it has the most and ones I really liked. The colours really stood out to me. I liked this happiness is money poster to the left here. It’s cute and clever because it adds the words even if they arent in the word Happiness causinf Mappiness and the like.
This poster is visually pleasing as it uses repitition fonts. I wanted to add more typography posters to this personal record as I struggle with font the most. I like the use of fonts that are cleverly placed. This one is in a never ending oval and reads again and again over and over in a loop.

This website lets you subscribe to a tokyo treat box. I bought one recently because I think the graphic design is highly interesting and very aesthetically pleasing. It might even be a good market for me in the future. I would love to design a subscription box. The website is visually appealing too and matches the oriental feeling of getting a box full of Japanese snacks.

This article has really good tips on what is the biggest Graphic Design trends of 2017. I like this article because it also uses the tips it has provided, making their design bold, minimal, vibrant colours and tones.
My Personal Record https://www.facebook.com/Cossette/ posts/10152592376519979 I thought that this design for Hidden treats poster was very amazing. I love how they have two meanings based on how you at the poster. The first one is mountains but is also a wine bottle pouring into a glass hidden in there. The one below is a person skiing from a birds eye view to also look like a fork. The last one is cute, its a snowy mountain with skii lifts and a cable car looks like the cherry on top of a pile of cream. The style is modern and has cool colours that I think are pretty and fitting.
