Aisleen Marley Web Design and Copywriting
A selection of websites I have written copy for and / or designed….
Miss Elyssia.com
Miss Elyssia, a glamour model and performance artist from East Anglia, asked me to design a new website for her. She wanted to move away from her past ‘dark’ gothic imagery and showcase a more feminine, ‘bright’ look in order to appeal to a larger audience. I managed the hosting and design for misselyssia.com using Wordpress.
Midas Boxing & Fitness.com
Midas Boxing and Fitness had previously advertised its classes via Facebook but needed a stand-‐ alone website to enhance credibility and to allow potential customers who were not on Facebook to find information about the club. I used a free Wordpress theme to design this website – this was in order to keep his costs down – however, I did advise a custom URL in order to maintain a level of professionalism, and then purchased this on his behalf.
Midas Perfect Pictures.com
Midas Perfect Pictures wanted a simple, low cost website to promote its services. This site was designed using a free Wordpress theme and enables people to order photos to be printed on canvas.
The Mattress Emporium.com
I was asked to create some persuasive and informative intro copy for eight pages as part of a website refresh. As part of this, the client requested that I also develop a list of keywords in order to positively impact the website’s SEO and integrate them into the copy.
The Client: Help With Jobs (part of the Help With... series of websites)
Help with Jobs.co.uk
I was asked to write nine articles for the Guide to Interviews section of the ‘help with jobs’ website. These needed to be straightforward, practical guides for job seekers about to embark on an interview, perhaps for the first time. SEO keywords were also incorporated into each article.
Automotive Blog.co.uk
Automotive Blog asked me to write a series of articles ranging from information on buying a car online, advice for women buyers and renting cars abroad to quirky, light-‐hearted posts on why women are better drivers than men or celebrity car mishaps. I was provided with a list of keywords that needed to be incorporated into each article.
Life’s Great Adventures.com
This is my travel blog – up and running since early 2010 – which includes many examples of my writing from first-‐person blog posts and advice articles to destination info and fun facts...
Selected articles... Travel China Overland: Surviving those train journeys... Reverse Culture Shock: How to cope with coming ‘home’ Destinations: Iran Two Wheel Adventure: Cycle Camping Travel Safe for a trip you’ll never forget
Strident Computer Systems.co.uk
As part of a website redesign, Strident Computer Systems asked me to write copy for several pages including Products & Services and Legal. The products and services offered are of a technical nature thereby Strident wanted them written in a style that could be easily digested by businesses seeking IT solutions. It was important that the business benefits of each product/service was communicated rather than the technicalities of how each piece of software worked, for example. I was also responsible for populating the News & Views section with blog posts.
