ADAPTING DOMESTICITIES Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we collectively recognized the advantages of combining work and living within a single environment. This experience shed light on the unique benefits and practicality of embracing a lifestyle where work and living are seamlessly integrated. The pandemic underscored the significance of this harmonious coexistence, fostering a deeper appreciation for the advantages it brings, such as enhanced work-life balance, increased flexibility, and reduced commute times. It prompted us to reevaluate and rethink our traditional approaches to work and living, offering new perspectives on the synergy between these two aspects of our lives. This narrative tells the tale of a baker who embarked on the journey of constructing a unique establishment—a bakery that also serves as a comfortable and functional home, exemplifying the growing trend of integrated work and living spaces during these transformative times.

CRAFTSMEN’S GROVE The project’s focal point is the establishment of a wood workshop resource center along the Kallayi River, a region with a rich history in woodworking. This initiative is distinguished by its unique approach, as it brings together a floating community of educators, students, and a small group of dedicated owners. This innovative concept not only preserves the area’s woodworking legacy but also creates an inspiring and dynamic environment where artisans can refine their skills while sharing knowledge with eager learners.

BAMBOOVIDA Anticipating a world heavily reliant on AI by the year 2035, we present Bamboovida: a bamboobased residential community designed to cater to individuals of all age groups who share a specific interest in self-sufficient and eco-friendly bamboo living. Through our housing initiative, the Bamboo community strives to ensure sustainable living and construction by seamlessly blending the elegance and cultural essence of heritage with the innovative and captivating world of bamboo architecture. Our primary objective is to examine how communal living, with fundamental spatial requirements, enhances the connections between individuals. Addressing the pressing issue of climate change, we address it through sustainable, environmentally conscious construction methods that minimize waste. The central principle guiding our housing project is adaptive reuse.
