here and now, architecture shapes me to the person i am today. architecture has triggered the dichotomy of my personality, letting me engage both creatively and scientifically, while also helping me grow my interest in art and design. as i am doing it for some time, i believe architecture is the embodiment of collaborative works. it can’t stand alone without the support of other disciplines. hence, in my process, i always give time to ponder and consider other fields into the piece i am working on. looking forward to the future of architecture, i enthuse to learn as much as i can and continue to push the boundaries of mine to understand the field and make the most of it without limiting my own self and the contribution of other areas of expertise.

how does architecture play a part in the community as a guarding space for children’s growth while achieving quality education for all in a playful manner?

The experience of school plays a vital part in children’s future lives. Anything can become a teaching and learning tool. Architecture steps in to set up the school as a “three-dimensional textbook” as learning achieved by the awareness of the surroundings and the support of visual literacy. It all comes up while considering children’s characteristics and growth to reach a psychological level of protection.

Site located on the main road of a new residential area at Kabupaten Bekasi and surrounded by existing and developing residential. In the radius of 3 km, there are 9 other elementary schools, yet none of it counted as inclusive schools.

context analysis bordered with the main road of the district making site easily accessed by the public, but at the same time could harm the process of learning due to noises that come from the road. placing greeneries along the road could help reduce the noise coming.

north-facing site gives opportunity for placing building mass parallel with the main road and optimize natural lighting for the building.

as a developing residential area, empty lands are anywhere around the site. this condition doesn’t help the “three-dimensional textbook concept of school. therefore, enhancing school facilities are much needed.

design structure The strategy is to merge an informal learning environment inside an inclusive formal learning space that could help children develop their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities by guiding the nature of children through space.

architecture can do many things, but does designing out tragedy could help reduce, or even, overcome trauma caused by one thing or another?

Such tragedy occurred in December 2018 when two big waves of tsunami wiped out an entire village and damaged 7 others in Pandeglang, leaving only nothing but trauma to locals, physically and mentally. Besides focusing on the revitalization of physical development, children affected by the event need to be helped to overcome the trauma.

The strategy is to create a module of shelter to provide safe zone for the kids after traumatic event. Thus, the form of the shelter supposed to closed at both sides and open at both ends. coastal area

Dusun 1

Possible placement of the shelter located at Dusun 1, Desa Tanjung Jaya, which located within a safe distance by the coastal area and didn’t get affected by the disaster.

Circulation and space planning are the primary key of a hospital design. Because providing medical facilities is not merely about where the needs met. It should be built to offer a feeling of comfort to help patients regain their health.

how do architecture and psychology work together to help people improving the quality of their well-being?

site context The site chosen located on the main road of Jakarta Garden City, Cakung, Jakarta. It was chosen with the consideration of other medical facilities’ existence within a 2 km radius around the site to support tiered reference between healthcare facilities. High-density residential around the site also one of the considerations to the chosen site.

2nd Year Studio Project 2018 Semarang, Indonesia + 2.317 m2 + 1.070 m2 Dr. Ars. Ir. Wijayanti, M.Eng

Although being the primary public health care in Indonesia, puskesmas still get underestimated by most people. The stiff looks of puskesmas, which mostly caused by its budget, causing the public to misjudge its facilities. isn’t it architecture’s responsibility to provide building that could deliver its function by its aesthectically simple design? 14
