Over 212,000 people are living with chronic hep C and only 2% have ever been treated. This is shocking and would probably be unthinkable for many other chronic diseases! Hep C treatment can be a scary prospect. Appointments with doctors and nurses in hospitals can be very difficult for people with hep C: we are often treated with disdain and made to feel uncomfortable. But we can’t let this keep us away from lifesaving treatment. If you can, why not take someone with you for support. That way you get what you need and you might be less likely to experiences poor treatment if someone else is with you.
