odel Colony has become a good place to stay in Pune, thanks to the constant efforts of Model Colony Parisar Sudharna Samiti which (MCPSS) aims at overall development of this area. In doing so it has set a role model for all other areas in Pune. Established in 1991, this organisation has initiated sea changes with cooperation from civic authorities and area residents. Model Colony consisted of bungalows initially. As population of Pune started growing by leaps and bounds, the growing real estate rates in the area brought in apartment culture. The major increase in population collapsed the planning of PMC and the area was beset with basic problems of garbage and many other issues. To fight against all this, MCPSS was formed as a registered organisation.
