As you know, it is an activity consisting of a proposed reading of a specific book by a group of people who gets together every two weeks or monthly in order to comment and exchange opinions about the chapters read individually at home. 1st Reading group “Novel·les de cine” (On Thursday at 18 h.). 2nd Reading group “Un món negre” (On Tuesday at 18:30). “SENY” Exhibition Photographies from Ivana Larosa
Seny, an exhibition produced by the “Museu de la Vida Rural de la Fundació Lluís Carulla”, is a showing about two sagas of stonemasons and blacksmiths who, since the nineteenth century, have been involved in the restoration of the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet after the return of the Benedictine Order in 1940. Ivana Larrosa has worked in many positions, all of them being related to the audio-visual world and she has finally specialized in photography. Although she possesses a huge training in the audio-visual field and especially in photography, her passion for the camera is vocational and it grew up in her as far as she can remember. In Seny, she reflects on the passage of time, the memory and the prints, the trails, the impressions, the professional transmission of knowledge, the hardness of traditional jobs, the uncertain future… Visiting hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00h to 13:00h and from 16:30h. to 20:00h. X Poefesta Festival
This year, in the Poetry festival of Oliva, in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary, we have added some literary activities and one of them is destined to the educational centres of Oliva. We want children and teenagers to enjoy of the poetry, so we have prepared a show entitled “Varios y dispersos versos conversos y perversos de los universos”. In this strongly recommended show, important Valencian childish literary figures take place, such as: the poet Josep Ballester, who is the author of this project and Carles Cano, one of the most important literary storytellers in our country. This activity addresses to the pupils of the 6 th grade and 1st of ESO. 6:30h Via Crucis. The Climb to Calvary. On Friday morning we invite you to go all over the path known as The Climb to Calvary, in a mountain called “Santa Ana”. The effort will worth it. From immemorial time lots of people have attended to the Via Crucis. The aurora’s beauty, the wonderful landscape, the statues, the 8 brotherhoods walking down the streets, songs and prayers will cause you an intense feeling. 18:30h “El desenclavament” After a brief pause, we will meet again in order to celebrate one of the most expected events of the Oliva’s Holy Week. From the 15th Century, this sacred event remembering the Descent from the Cross and the Holy Burial is represented. While the event is taking place, you will be hearing a symphonic poem texted by Salvador Soler and played by the compositor Josep Climent (Oliva). Santa Maria’s Church.
Holy Burial’s Procession
20:00h The last meeting is on Friday, when the Holy Burial takes place. It is the highpoint of the celebrations, where the most beautiful statues are carried along the streets in the procession. It is amazing the beauty of these statues and how they transmit the last moments of the Jesus’s passion and death. The procession starts in Santa Maria’s Church.
