Little Hare Finds A

Snow blanketed Little Hare’s house as she slept snugly in her bed.

Suddenly there was a loud noise.

It startled Little Hare awake!

She ran outside to investigate, and on the roof was a gigantic box tied with a bow!

“I wonder who’s big gift this is?” Little Hare thought.

So she loaded it onto her sleigh and set off to find the owner.

First, she asked her neighbor Mr. Fox if it was his, but he knew nothing about it.

Then, she asked Auntie Owl, who also didn’t recognize it and actually thought it was rather small.

Next, the piglets, who had no ideas.

Lastly, she asked Mr. Snowman, but as usual, he had nothing to say.

Little Hare was getting frustrated when . . . she came across another present.

And another . . .

And several more.

Suddenly, she bumped into something!

It was Santa Claus!

Little Hare was so suprised. She had never met Santa before! “Did you perhaps lose this?” she squeaked.

Santa told her about a terrible snowstorm, losing all the presents, and how Christmas would be ruined.

Little Hare whispered, “I will help you find the gifts.”

Together, they searched the forest . . . and collected all the packages . . .

so everyone would get their gifts.

In return, Santa granted Little Hare a wish for all her help.

Little Hare wanted just one thing . . .

To ride in Santa’s magical sleigh

and deliver something special to all her friends!

First, they stopped at the home of Mr. Fox and his small cubs.

Then, they left a perfectly sized gift for Auntie Owl.

Under the tree, they left three special gifts for the three piglets.

And finally, something for Mr. Snowman, to keep him warm.

Little Hare waved goodbye to Santa.

He flew off into the night to deliver the rest of his packages.

And, knowing her friends would all wake up to something special, Little Hare turned off her light and fell fast asleep.

The next morning, Little Hare woke up with the first rays of the winter sun.

When she looked out the window, she could not believe her eyes!

There, in a heap of snow, was a gigantic box tied with a bow.

Inside was something special from Santa perfect for visiting friends and delivering gifts of any size.
