› Star anise (Illicium species):

Very tolerant, fragrant leaves

› Saucer magnolia (Magnolia x soulangiana): Beautiful spring flowers

› Sweet almond bush (Aloysia virgate): Very fragrant flowers

› Firebush (Hamlelia patens): Attracts wildlife

› Fakahatchee grass (Tripsacum dactyloides): Looks good year around
