Help At The Push Of A Button

Medical

In the event of an emergency, do you have someone right there to help you? What if you’re alone and unable to make it to the phone? Today’s seniors are more active than ever—golfing, fishing, taking care of grandkids. You name it, they’re doing it. But at the same time, it’s never too early to start thinking proactively about your future health needs.

With Medical Guardian, help is literally available at the push of a button. Solely a medical alarm company, they are putting to rest the “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” stigma associated with medical alert companies.

“We cater to those who are proactive about their health,” says Marketing Director Matt Guerrieri. “Our clients may not have an immediate need, but maybe they are beginning to notice subtle changes in their health or how easily they get around.”

Although the typical client is a woman in her mid-70s, Medical Guardian takes care of people of all ages, from children to the very elderly.

“We have people in their 50s who have suffered a heart attack, and some parents use it as an added security measure for their young children,” he says.

When help is needed, simply push the button to contact one of two nationwide monitoring sites. The call is answered within seconds and all operators are highly trained to quickly and efficiently handle your situation, whether you’re in need of the police or an ambulance, or if you just need your son or daughter to come by and check on you.

Medical Guardian uses state-of-the-art technology, including Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. There are a variety of device options available, several of which allow you to take the system with you wherever you may go. Monitoring services range from $29.95 to $49.95 per month. That’s less than $1 a day. Think of how much you spend on a cup of coffee!

“Thank god I have never had to use my Medical Guardian alert system, but I would not trade it for anything in the world. I frequently travel to my vacation home, and I can take my system everywhere. I feel safe even when my family is not around because help is right there with me. Great investment,” says Joanne Henderson.

One of the most impressive features is the fall detection technology. The system, using a complex combination of algorithms and a gyroscope, can actually tell the difference between a nice, slow descent such as sitting, and an abrupt fall. When a fall is detected an operator will contact you. If you are unable to answer, help will be sent your way.

The professionals at Medical Guardian treat their clients with respect and integrity. Unlike larger, corporately-owned companies, there are no pushy sales people or tactics.

“We are just trying to treat people right and make sure that they both need and are enjoying our services,” says Matt.

Get Your H2O

A recent study in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics showed that drinking more water daily resulted in consuming fewer calories, sugar, sodium and cholesterol. And best of all: The benefits can be seen by increasing your daily water intake by just 1 percent (but if you can add two or three extra glasses to the mix, that’s even better). By supplementing your diet with just a few more cups of water, your overall health will be improved and you’ll feel much more fit, so drink up!
