Campus Bus Stop

The bus stop shelter prototype is proposed to be located in the Georgia Tech Exhibition Hall bus loop and is promoting such circulation by being open on both sides. Encouraging all types of zones, this design does not divide places of sitting and standing but rather unites them under one overhead instead. The structure seen here is a combination of steel and polycarbonate construction with steel plate and bolt footing. The polycarbonate panels add transparency and openness to the space, allowing the structure and its users to breathe. The steel framing and reinforcements help distribute the weight of the bus stop evenly towards the ground at the same time. Additionally, this creates an array pattern above the clear panels, creating interesting shadows.
