INFORMATION KIOSK In this project, we are to design a small commercial building in one of six different spaces of choice. The commercial building in this project is a kiosk. This was a team project of 2 and we have analysed that a souvenir kiosk is probably the type of kiosk to design based on the needs of the site.

THE BOATHOUSE This project is divided into 3 parts. It is a compilation development of different skills in designing a building. Project 2.1 is on first hand experience in measuring boats. Project 2.2 is on site analysis and Project 2.3 is on Threshold. I have been given the task to design a boathouse at the outskirts of Sheffield. Understanding the practical considerations of how the building works with the things inside it as well as the context is important in this project. In a nutshell, this project is about exploring a design sitting in a context that is practical for the users and the things it accomodates.

HOUSING PROJECT The project is divided into 3 parts. We were required to do an analysis on a specific housing tyoe, study on how living needs affect the design of the house and finaly to design the scheme itself. The project is located in several sites in York, UK and one site in particular is allocated for each student. Central to the design is the seperation of shared and private in understanding common values such as lifestyle to create an environment that lives harmonically and comfortable at thesame time. The scheme offers a mixture of family housing and student housing, The family houses are of a mixture of 2 bedroom units and 3 bedrom units. The site, York, has a great influence in defining the character of the house.

The scheme is a storytelling space that sits in a small town of Hebden Bridge. It is a sociable space where people share stories, creating a network of strong community between the locals and travelers.

NARRATIVE SPACES

James Lister Guitar Making Space The scheme is a guitar making space that has been dedicated to the one of the only guitar maker in Sheffield - James Lister. The site sits within a historical site in Sheffield which was once known to be a space for makers. Existing on the site is an 1800’s brick wall that could potentially be the bridge between the old and the new. Introducing guitar making to the public will potentialy celebrate the site by continuing the act of making and becoming part of Sheffield’s musical heritage.
