Introduction Community. It’s a simple word with a ton of impact. When you stop and think about all of the communities in which you exist, it can feel overwhelming. Alpha Kappa Psi also has communities. Communities of learners. Communities of leaders. Communities of volunteers. Communities of student chapter officers. Communities of event attendees. Communities are designed to promote and advance the collective needs of those within the community. Education is designed to enhance and augment group learning. Events are designed to engage individuals. A few of AKPsi’s events underwent an overhaul this past year. • Presidents Academy and Fraternity Advisors Conference were merged into one event enhancing the planning and production of the event. • The Principled Business Leadership Institute was retired. • Elevate was launched in February 2022 with content directly related to the AKPsi Certificate Program. • Other events such as Advising the Advisor and Academy remained intact with no changes. No matter the event, Alpha Kappa Psi’s strategy is to assist members movement along a set of pathways and the development of key skills employers want and need. Those Professional Pathways are: • • • •

Know Yourself: Clarify your personal values and align them with your actions by identifying your leadership style and tendencies. Build Your Team: Build meaningful personal and professional relationships by considering how personal leadership and tendencies fit within a team. Find Your Path: Explore the activities and actions you are interested in and do well by growing in understanding how your interests and skills can guide your career decisions. Practice Your Skills: Apply the skills found within the Commonwealth Leadership Alliance Core Six™ curriculum: Decision-Making, Financial Literacy, Innovative Thinking, Professional Communication, Relationship Building, and Social Responsibility.

Our education is designed to provide high-impact activities, events, and training programs. And, our learning and leadership development program in conjunction with in-person events is designed to develop each member’s ability to navigate their career and be a leader in the workplace. These skills are often regarded as critical by employers, managers, and researchers. The following report contains analytical information regarding our events hosted during FY23. Our members, friends, and partners are vital to the success of the organization. We encourage you to read through the report and share your insight with an Alpha Kappa Psi member on your campus, in your company, or in your community. Afterall, when AKPsi meets, AKPsi creates the future.

Sincerely,

Jason Pierce, CAE, CMP Senior Director of Learning & Development

Professional Pathways Students are guided through 4 pathways. The pathways are flexible and can be adjusted based upon the student’s individual academic path and calendar; however, the core program is mainly designed to be experienced within a community of learners. The Pathways are completed through a variety of activities and events – these activities are outlined and developed by the Commonwealth Leadership® Alliance (CLA) and delivered locally (either through an advisor, through a CLA-wide event, and through self-paced online courses).

Commonwealth Leadership Alliance Core SixTM A curriculum designed to educate leaders about the skills generally needed for an individual or organization to complete key processes and operations.

ATTENDEES

Over the past year, 4 Advising the Advisor events have been held on zoom. Advising the Advisor is an opportunity for fraternity advisors to review the Chapter Achievement Pathway and learn how to coach their chapter officers thru the various stages of the Chapter Achievement Pathway. In each respective session, a quick overview of what to expect in the current month takes place, followed by a Q&A session with the AKPsi professional staff. In addition to this, chapter advisors are able to use the sessions as an opportunity to network and ask each other questions.

“Thank you for yet another amazing event! Lots of great information and a truly beneficial series. Can’t wait for the next one!!!”
