KITCHEN SCENARIO
Functional Pan support lacks grip; burner gets blocked in a spill; stove installation issues Human Interface & Ergonomics Knob gets stuck & breaks easily; first time ignition issues; flame not easily visible Technology Provision of gas tube pipe is efficient but also requires auto-cut during leak Aesthetics Cubical form is overused & bulky; lack of color options Safety Gas tube gets cut with sharp object; absence of any hot surface indicator
Cooking stove has evolved a lot in terms of functionality, portability and Safety, but there are several ergonomic problem not yet taken care of.
Reliability Pan support rusts; flame goes off on slim; rubber beading wears off fast
CONCEPT 1: GLUE MOUNTED GLASS TOP // GLASS & PLASTIC // INNOVATIVE JOINERY // SLEEK & ELEGANT Small & large pan support
Flame control indicator & Knob - clear indication To control the ame
Fasteners free top Easy to clean on the top
Space to wipe beneath the stove We have used stainless legs Fixed it to the glass using UV Glue Glass mounting mechanism
CONCEPT 2: STAINLESS STEEL WALL MOUNTED STOVE // FOLDABLE & COMPACT // INNOVATIVE JOINERY
Knobs & interface area
Can be used as a shelf
Telescopic hinge
You would have seen something similar opening in Range rover back door; goes with latest trend of modular open kitchen
Integrated pan support and spill tray twist-locked to avoid fall
CONCEPT 3: PROFILED GLASS TOP STOVE
CONCEPT 4: CERAMIC PAN SUPPORT STOVE
// NON-RECTANGULAR FORM
// STAINLESS STEEL & CERAMIC
// LESS MATERIAL WASTAGE
// INTEGRATED PAN SUPPORT & SPILL TRAY

THE BAD HANDWRITING STORY
Use of computers in early age
Handwriting classes
Lack of awareness
With computers are in everybody’s hand kids, specially 5 -10 yrs of age have almost forgotten to give importance to writing on paper.
Parents don’t have either the time or the patience to sit with kids and teach them everything. Hence, they admit their kids to handwriting classes; positive results are seen in few months.
But most people in India are not aware of such handwriting classes around them
To study kid’s grip style and Interact with kids between age group 5 yrs to 12 yrs and provide a solution in terms of ideal gripping. Bad handwriting
Depressed kids
Kids are getting casual towards writing on paper. Day by day, rate of writing is decreasing which results in bad handwriting.
Parents and teachers getting irritated Children getting disconnected from their parents
IDEAL HOLD
USER RESEARCH
M-seal warped around the pencil to take their finger impressions Studied their angles at which they are holding Index Finger remains closest to the nib
Total 14 users interacted between the age of 4 to 11 years
Middle finger which is resting at the back Angle of the Index is 40°, thumb is 60° and middle finger is 10° from the ground
RESEARCH FINDINGS 90% Of kids were keeping index finger ahead from middle and thumb from the nib No one held the pencil 1inch from the pencil nib 70% Of kids hold the pencil really tightly, so there are high chances of getting ache and sweat
DESIGN BRIEF: To design a pen/pencil grip for kids between age 4 to 11 years, which enhances their handwriting quality
1” 45°
CONCEPTUALIZATION Experimenting with 5 different concept directions such as cavity for fingers to fit, ring-like finger hold, nail caps and so on. Made up of silicon material and micro-holes provided for air ventilation Embossing on the inside surface of the grip to enhance the friction for better gripping
MOCK-UP & PROTOTYPE 3-D MODELING & RENDERING
MOCK-UP Mock-ups using thick drawing paper and white M-seal
PROTOTYPE
PRO-E SURFACING Prototype of chosen concept using oil based clay Given for 3-D scanning – as it is a organic free form Then started refining on 3-D model based on 3-D scanned file
