Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva won Brazil’s presidential elections this October 30th. He obtained 50.9% of the votes and defeated Jair Bolsonaro, who was seeking reelection. The leftist leader will govern between 2023 and 2027. His election means the creation of an important block of progressive governments in Latin America, which includes Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Honduras, Bolivia and now Brazil.
