The impact of the life and work of the internationally acclaimed Hungarian horse breeder can still be traced in the Arabian breeding of the world. The offspring of the horses he selected seven decades ago still play a significant role today.
Tibor Pettkรณ-Szandtner was the leader of Hungarian horse breeding since 1942 as the head of the Horse Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. During his short mandate, he contributed to the flourishing of Hungarian horse breeding. However, his most remarkable achievement, among many others, during this difficult time of war, was his attempt to save the bloodstock of the Hungarian studs.
