Annual Meeting Stacey White, General Manager

Arab Electric exists to provide safe, reliable and affordable energy to you, our Members. As one of those members, you have a perspective that is valuable to us, and we encourage you to share it at our annual meeting. We invite you to join us at our annual membership meeting Saturday, August 22. The meeting is scheduled to be held at The Arab High School Auditorium, 770 6th St NE, Arab, AL. At the annual meeting you will have the opportunity to meet the members of the Board of Trustees and me as we share priorities and challenges of the coming year. Every energy bill you pay helps to ensure better reliability for you and your neighbors. Your dollars are reinvested locally into improvements that affect the service and affordability of your energy. By vote of the members in 2017 and 2018, the terms of the members of the board of trustees were set at four-years and limited to two terms. Due to the change in terms, there are no trustees whose terms are ending in 2020. At the 2019 Annual Meeting, motions were presented which were duly seconded. Accordingly, the motions are to be voted on at the 2020 Annual Meeting.

The proposed by-law changes are:

• Proposed By-Law Change # 1 One Member, One Vote Do you support a proposed by-law amendment which provides individuals and entities which have more than one meter will only be allowed one vote for the election of trustees, proposed by-law amendments and any other matter put to the entire membership for vote? • Proposed By-Law Change # 2 Elimination of Mail In Voting Do you support a proposed by-law amendment, which eliminates voting by mail-in ballots and requires all members to vote in person at any annual or special called membership meeting? If you have never attended our annual meeting, or if it has been a while, we invite you to attend this year. Our cooperative family looks forward to hearing from our members. Keeping in mind that our electric cooperative is member-owned, we want to be sure and share updates with you in person. The first 100 AEC members to register at the annual meeting will receive a special attendance gift, every member who casts a vote will receive a $5 credit on their energy bill, and we will have a drawing for one $500 cash prize, two $250 cash prizes and the opportunity to win a 1996 Ford F-150 4x4. The annual meeting notice and ballots will be in your mailbox soon. We look forward to hearing from you!
