History The Psi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta was founded on the campus of the University of Alabama on November 18, 1921. We take pride in being a member of first circle, as we were the second sorority house built at the Capstone. Psi was the first established chapter of Alpha Gam in the state of Alabama.

New House!
Psi chapter is excited to announce that it will be building a new chapter house! Due to the increase in chapter size this is much needed. The house will be almost double the size of our current one, increasing from around 18,000 square feet to 36,000. The new house location will be behind the President’s Mansion.
Ground breaking
Alpha Gamma Delta’s international philanthropic cause is diabetes awareness and education. Across the continent, Alpha Gams are participating in American Diabetes Association walks and fund raisers, as well as other community service events that support the diabetes initiative. The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation provides grants that support members and other individuals living with diabetes.

Swaps
Alpha Gam has many fun parties throughout the year. Parties this year include Pledge formal, Caddy Shack, Tacky Christmas, My Tie, and our annual party in the Spring, Overboard.
Every year, we host a cookout with Phi Gamma Delta to support our philanthropies. In addition to our annual cookout, we host our Parent’s Weekend and Silent Auction every Spring. This year, we’ve had many other philanthropic events in addition to our cookout and silent auction. Some of these included: a crawfish boil with Beta Theta Pi and Alpha Tau Omega and an upcoming 5k run! In the wake of the devastating tornado that hit Tuscaloosa in April, Alpha Gam hosted a Clothing Drive at our house. We collected gently used clothing from Greek members across campus. At the house, we sorted the items by gender, size, and type of clothing. We had an amazing response and donated over 150 bags of clothing to drop off sites in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.
Swaps with fraternities in the Fall are always fun to attend and are themed. Themes include Cowboys & Indians, Rave, 80’s, and “What used to be cool.” Members always enjoy dressing up and attending these swaps.
