Philanthropy
Our chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta fully commits ourselves to helping others. Our national philanthropy is CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children. Every year we hold many events such as Tacos for CASA, Christmas for CASA, and Kickball for CASA where we raise money while having a great time with our sisters and others members of the Greek Community. We have also adopted the RISE center here in Tuscaloosa as our local philanthropy. We also volunteer frequently at the Tuscaloosa Animal Shelter and Hannah Homes, as well as many other local organizations.
Scholarship Minimum High School GPA to be considered for incoming freshman: 3.0 Minimum GPA to be considered for upperclassmen: 3.0 Here at Theta we take pride in making sure that academics are a number one priority. We offer many things to help get the most out of our schoolwork including study hall, mentoring programs, tutoring, ect. We have many girls in honor societies as well as many other academic organizations on campus.
Social & Sisterhood Throughout the year we orchestrate several sisterhood bonding activities. Some of our sisterhood events include MAC makeup classes, movie nights, sporting events, and much more! All of these events are a great way for the whole house to get to know one another and bond while also having a great time! Social events are another great way for us to get to know our fellow sisters. Our social calendar is always filled with fun parties such as Founders Cocktail, Tacky Christmas, Black Kite Formal, Famous Couples Party, and many themed swaps with fraternities on campus.
