Success is best when shared
Reflections on a memorable year and bright future ahead.
At Alabar, we back our stallions with unwavering support, and it brings us great joy to see the success of these efforts prosper on the racetrack and in the sales ring.
Our stalwart sires Art Major, Majestic Son and Rock N Roll Heaven never cease to amaze us. Art Major is chasing down his eighth Australian 2YO Pacing Sire title and Majestic Son's status as the Southern Hemisphere's most dominant trotting sire remains unparalleled.
He has claimed seven Australian and five New Zealand Trotting Sire titles in succession, and Sundees Son made history when becoming the first trotter to claim back-to-back New Zealand Horse of the Year titles.
Rock N Roll Heaven has held his position as a top-five Australian Pacing sire for half a decade and continues to sire elite pacers – dual Group 1 winner Rock N Roll Doo is a prime example.
“ At Alabar, we back our stallions with unwavering support.
Alan Galloway
Our young gun stallions continue to lead the way. Always B Miki has positioned himself as a top global sire, and Vincent and Lazarus are represented by a conglomerate of exceptional two and three-year-olds.
We're proud to have a stallion roster that offers plenty of fresh, new talent and our team were thrilled with the bumper first crop of foals by Bettor's Wish, Ride High, Elite Stride and Ultimate Sniper.
Captain Crunch's debut crop set the standard in the sales ring this year. His yearlings sold for up to $220,000, setting a new top price for a freshman sire – a record previously held by Vincent. They have made their way into Australasia's leading stables and will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
On the racetrack, Alabar-bred filly Joyful gave us plenty to celebrate on New Year's Day when saluting in the Group 1 Vicbred Final. The fact that she's by Always B Miki and from our resident mare Joyfuljoy certainly made the win extra special.
As we look towards the future, we're particularly excited about the racetrack debut of the first Northern Hemisphere crop by Captain Crunch and Bettor's Wish.
Hot on their heels, The Storm Inside's yearlings have impressed breakers and trainers. The future
is bright for these youngsters, and we can't wait to watch them follow in their sire's footsteps.
We're thrilled to welcome reigning US 3YO Colt of the Year Pebble Beach to Alabar in 2023. He has the highest credentials and posted an excellent juvenile season before returning at three to win the Breeders Crown and North America Cup.
He's from the world's hottest sireline, and considering the record that US Champion 3YO Colts have at stud, we have every confidence he is destined for a successful career at Alabar.
Our collective passion and love of the sport and these beautiful animals runs through everything we do at Alabar, and we're immensely proud to watch our vision come to fruition.
Thank you for your support, friendship, and commitment to our industry – we look forward to another year of shared success.
Alan Galloway“
