Alaffia

Alaffia is an ethical body, face, and hair care products company aimed at promoting holistic beauty, supporting ethical business practices, and empowering communities in West Africa through the fair trade of indigenous resources and knowledge. Each product features synergistic ingredients in a base of unrefined, handcrafted, and fairly traded shea butter or coconut oil. Our products are free of synthetics, parabens, sulfates, and are always made by hand in small batches. A percentage of sales for each product goes toward our empowerment projects in West Africa. We encourage empowerment, a key to sustainability, through our community projects, women's cooperatives, and education and involvement in our customer communities. We firmly believe that the cooperation of people across the world is an essential part of building sustainability in all of our communities. Alaffia is creating jobs in Olympia, WA, where it is headquartered, and Togo, West Africa through employment at its co-ops.
